Taking time out this lunchtime to sit under a tree and just appreciate life.

Usually love the other side of the house as the view is just amazing but this spot is shaded by some lovely trees so it was the place to be in the sun.

Also gave me chance to reflect on how far my clients are progressing.

It makes such a difference having me as your business manager driving your strategy forward. It is so exciting to see clients growth.

Have you every thought of working with a business manager. A coach, a strategist, a planner, a tech expert to name just a few of the things I get up to.

My time is spent growing your business and it is so satisfying seeing that growth.

Do you feel like this beautiful fire pit within your business?

You have so much potential but you are missing a few things.

I’m the case of the fire pit, we are talking a fire but more importantly people sat round the fire chatting and having fun.

In your business it can be strategy that is holding you back from reaching your potential.

Strategy holds so much power to your success as you have thought about where you are going and created a plan. A plan provides focus and direction for you so there is no guessing about what you are doing.

I have just spent the weekend away with THE most amazing people.

Having time away from my work always allows me to put some distance between the doing.

It allows be to dream, to fantasise, to think ‘what if I….’.

It is always when I am not actually working that the great ideas come up that move me forward in work.

This Sunday I am running my first wellness event , an award winning wedding venue.

I have run horse shows, balls and large corporate events but a wellness event is a first for me.

I have had such a great response, I am blown away with how everything has gone so far.

Sunday is going to be a great day, I can not wait.

2 tickets for the Wim Hof Method ice experience have just become available as a coupe have had to pull out.

I have been working with a client for a few months and we have brought in new employees to support the growth of the business.

But the owner's perception was that one of the new employees was not getting may clients (serviced based business) and not revenue was low. In her mind - actually making a loss.

REALITY - for the last 3 months the new employee had been steadily growing with more than doubling her revenue in 3 months.

So - perception is not reality - get the facts and make a judgement on the facts.

In this service based business we are reporting monthly figures per employee and what services are selling well for that employee.

This gives us the detail so that we can then tailor marketing of services from that employee.

It is the start of the month and I have got one question for you?

When are you doing your monthly financial planning?

I like to do mine the first Monday on the month.

It gives me time to have to everything in for the end of the month so I can make an ASSESSMENT on the month just finished. I can see what worked and what maybe didn't work quite so well. I can assess where I am in my journey as CEO. Where by business is progressing and what I have to celebrate.

I can then use planning next month to do some GOAL SETTING. Using you financial planning to drive your goals for next month is such a great way to work.

Then the bit I love CREATING A PLAN.

This is the focus of the monthly financial planning at the start of the month.

We will get into the EX*****ON and MONITORING phases later in the month.

Today is International Women's Day and I could have spent time finding a witty and inspiring quote but then I took a step back and thought about how I live my life.

I was brought up to believe you can do anything you put your mind to.

I was scoring at cricket at 13, which may seem odd now but when I was young, girls never did it.

At 16 I joined the local scuba diving club and was the only girl there.
I was the only girl in some of my A level classes.

I did civil engineering at university and there were 3 females in a class of 30. In fact there was probably only 5% of women in the whole academic faculty.

At 19 I worked on a sewage treatment building site as an engineer. With the wind and rain, the mud and smell and was asked why I wanted to be do this rather than be a nurse, inside in the warmth.

I have continued to choose the path I want to take, without my gender holding me back.

Not everyone is able to choose their path as freely as I have been and there are many hurdles before we have a truly gender equal world.

But just imagine what a gender equal world looks like.

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Nad for me that is why we have a day to celebrate women and all they can and should be able to achieve.

Review your regular payments is my top tip for this week.

Likely you have fallen into the pay monthly trap.

When you start out you are watching the pennies
and you will have chosen a monthly payment.

On face value you are paying a smaller amount each month, which is good for cash flow.

BUT is it good longer term?

If your business requires you to have a particular piece of tech or automation and it is key to your business then check out the annual costs.

Annual costs are usually cheaper than monthly costs. In fact I have never come across a situation where annual was anything other than cheaper than monthly.

So top tip for this week is to review your regular payments and pay annually.

Is financial planning for when you have money coming into your business?

Not at all. Knowing exactly how much money is going out and coming in or not coming in is crucial.

Waiting until you are an established business with money coming in before you establish financial planing is just madness.

Madness because when you are starting out money is probably tight and the last thing you want to be doing is overspending where you don't have to.

You can also use financial planning to forecast leaner months and identify where you could add in another programme or promote an evergreen course more to increase revenue.

As you progress knowing your financial situation allows you to identify when you could outsource or bring in a member of staff. You can model what the next year could look like.

And best of all it allows you to create a financial forecast of what you war aiming to achieve and there is nothing better than writing down your goals and keeping on top of where you are in actually are in achieving them.

So if you are just starting out or you have been coaching for a number of years how is your financial planning?

How do you keep track of your ideas?

Often ideas for posts, reels, courses and packages come at times when I am busy.

I used to make notes but that meant I had to carry a notepad round with me. But then I had multiple notepads. Or I forgot to capture it and struggled to remember it!!

As I always have my phone and I use Voxer with my clients I have now started using the My Notes section.

Really handy as I can just do a voice note or a message and they are all together with all my other work communications.
