Our next instalment in the Discover Halifax BID ballot and renewal series features Tracey Harvey, Managing Director of Harveys of Halifax.

A fourth-generation, family-run and independently owned department store, Harvey’s has been part of Halifax for almost 100 years.

In this video, Tracey reflects on the challenges facing town centre businesses - from disruption caused by roadworks and changing footfall, to the ongoing need for support.

But more importantly, she shares why the BID matters in the bigger picture.

For Tracey, the BID is about more than one individual business. It’s about businesses working together, having a collective voice, and supporting a town centre that continues to move forward.

Halifax businesses are stronger together.

This October, Tracey will be voting yes to the BID 2026 - yes to continued support for businesses, yes to investment in the town centre, and yes to the future of Halifax.
