Kay from Overgate Charity Shop- Halifax Little Stars is Backing the BID 2026! 💜

For Kay and the team at Overgate Little Stars, the value of the BID goes beyond the support available to individual businesses. It’s also about the additional investment and activity that helps make Halifax a stronger destination and encourages more people into the town centre.

From promoting Halifax and its businesses to supporting activity designed to increase footfall, being part of a BID town means businesses are collectively investing in the place they operate.

Kay said:

“The whole BID team are lovely and always really helpful whenever we need them. We also massively see the benefit of being part of a BID town, particularly the work that helps bring more people and footfall into Halifax.

Having that extra support for the town and its businesses is really valuable to us.”

Because when more people choose to visit, explore and spend time in Halifax, the whole town centre has the opportunity to benefit.

This October, Halifax businesses are voting on another five years of Halifax BID, and Kay and the team at Overgate are Backing the BID 2026! 💜

The Grayston Unity and Book Corner Halifax Town Festival officially kicked off yesterday with the unveiling of local artist Marcus Jack’s final three portraits of music legends who have played in Halifax!

Downstairs in Grayston Unity’s venue room, this lovely exhibition celebrates the town’s rich musical heritage through the work of a local artist.

With the festival running from today until Sunday, pop in and take a look this weekend while you’re enjoying the festival!

Halifax Music Town Long Weekender is here!

Following last night’s launch of Marcus Jack’s Halifax Music Town Exhibition, The Grayston Unity and Book Corner Halifax have a packed programme running from today until Sunday 18 October!

Expect live music, author events, a music heritage trail and showcases celebrating young local talent, with events at Grayston Unity and the Albany Arcade Halifax Borough Market

Throughout our BID Ballot & Renewal series, we’ve heard different experiences and perspectives from businesses and organisations across Halifax.

Some have always seen the value of the BID. Others have had questions, felt unsure or wanted to better understand what their levy actually delivers.
