The current trend of putting AI into everything reminds us of the annoying (and much mocked) Microsoft Paperclip. Why has this sprung to mind? Well today is paperclip day.

Today is the International Day of Action on .

It's aim is to raise awareness about women’s health issues and to advocate for gender equality in healthcare. As we mentioned on Check up day, women are notorious for putting themselves last, ignoring health issues, and missing check ups due to family commitments.

It is important to listen to your body, make your healthcare provider aware of any issues, make that appointment, attend that clinic, and take care of yourself.

Today is Nothing to Fear Day. Just imagine what you might achieve if you had nothing to fear...

Whether it’s fear of failure, fear of what others will think, or fear of rejection, there is power in feeling the fear and taking action anyway.

We hope you had a good Bank Holiday break. If you've been following our tips, you should have returned prepared. But if that isn't the case, grab a cup of tea or coffee, take 10 mins, and make yourself a list; not forgetting to prioritise it.

Another Bank Holiday and another 4-day week ahead. But, if you've followed our posts on planning for a break you'll be ready to leave later knowing everything is in place and with nothing to worry about other than the horrendous traffic on your journey.

Even if you are prepared it's worth taking ten minutes to review and prioritise what you have currently, double check what needs to be done and by when, and determine those tasks that absolutely have to be completed before you leave later.
That done, take a further ten minutes and prioritise and organise the documents and tasks you've determined can wait, ready for your return to work on Tuesday, so that you won't return to a disorganised pile of work.

This leaves you with the rest of the day to focus on only that which needs to be done and you can leave the office in good time with a clear conscience.
The last few things you should do are:
- clear you desk and leave it tidy
- write your to do list for your first day back
- turn your e-mail out of office on
- turn your out of office voicemail on or divert your phone and
- if you're going to be away for more than just the Bank Holiday, hand over all pertinent documents for projects/presentations

Love them or loathe them, HR plays a vital role in organisations. So much so that there is an international day recognising them; today in fact.

There's another Bank Holiday ahead which means another 4-day week coming up. Which, in turn, means for many trying to fit an extra day's work in.

We've shared many tips on the subject previously but, in the end, it all comes down to planning, discipline, and good time management.

With this being the second of two Bank Holidays in May it's important to prepare for your time out of the office, especially if you're planning to be out for the week after too, so why not treat the holiday as you would a project?

Look at your workload in the run up to your break and identify early any critical tasks that need to happen whilst you're away and ensure they are delegated or covered off ahead of time.

Write yourself a list with deadlines for things you have to do before you leave; the last five things on the list being:
- clear you desk and leave it tidy
- write your to do list for your first day back
- turn your e-mail out of office on
- turn your out of office voicemail on or divert your phone
- hand over all pertinent documents for projects/presentations

You can even use list making with your personal preparation for a holiday ensuring a stress-free build up for your break.

We hope you had an enjoyable &/or restful Bank Holiday weekend. If you've been following our tips, you should have returned prepared to a clear desk and a list of things to do. But if not, grab a cup of tea or coffee, sit down and take 10 minutes, and make yourself a list; not forgetting to prioritise it.

Today's post feels like a given the amount of people taking notes digitally these days. Interestingly, we still keep physical records and still use notebooks. Devices can run out of juice, not connect to a network, or even fail completely but our trusty notebooks and pens go on.
