Security Built for Critical National Infrastructure

Water utility sites are a vital part of the UK's Critical National Infrastructure (CNI). Protecting them takes more than a presence on site. It takes an understanding of the sector, the risks involved and the standards that are expected.

A new partnership begins at Wickford Developments

Yesterday, SGC Security Services officially started on site at Wickford Developments. With the site being based so close to our own Head Office, it's another significant step in strengthening our partnerships across Essex.

Our Operations Manager, Nigel Lanham, was on site from 6am to oversee the 7am shift change and mobilisation, ensuring a smooth handover from the very start.

We were also delighted to welcome Henry, one of our new frontline officers. Henry received a full introduction to SGC, along with a complimentary uniform and other amenities.

Henry said: "It is a new challenge, and I have welcomed it. With SGC, I believe everything is going to be very good."

Investing in the systems that support our people and operations.

From the 1st of October 2026, SGC Security Services will be moving to Gallinet, upgrading the platform used to support the management of our workforce and day-to-day operations.

As our business continues to develop, it's important that the systems behind our services develop with us. Gallinet provides enhanced functionality that will allow us to streamline a number of our processes, strengthen operational oversight and provide a platform better suited to our requirements going forward.

For our frontline colleagues, the Gallinet TelMe app will allow access to key day-to-day functions, including viewing rotas and duty information, clocking in and out, completing check calls, viewing available duties and managing holiday information.

A reminder to all SGC colleagues:
TelMe should be downloaded ahead of the changeover, with access available from the 25th of September. Please make sure you have your login details and PIN ready before the full transition on the 1st of October.

We’re pleased to announce that SGC Security Services has received centre approval to deliver the Level 3 Award for Healthcare Security Officer.

Accredited by Highfield and developed by Elite Academy of Security Training, the qualification is designed for trained security officers working within healthcare environments, providing specialist knowledge and practical skills to support the safe and secure care of patients, staff and visitors.

The course covers key areas including healthcare security responsibilities and legislation, patient risk assessment and observation, safeguarding, mental health and dementia awareness, infection control, conflict resolution, and personal safety and physical intervention.

This latest addition to our selection of courses further strengthens our training provision and our ability to support security professionals working within specialist healthcare settings.

Taking time to reflect is just as important as looking ahead.

Yesterday, our Sales & Marketing team came together to review the progress made throughout 2026 and consider how we can make the best use of the tools and processes now in place.

We also looked ahead to 2027 - reviewing our pipeline, upcoming tender opportunities and where we can continue to build on the foundations established this year.

It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on what’s working, identify where we can improve and ensure we’re well prepared for the next calendar year.

We’re pleased to confirm that our charity skydive has now been rescheduled and will take place on Sunday 25th October.

After weather conditions prevented us from jumping last Sunday, we’re looking forward to taking on the challenge in October.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have already raised over £3,000, and we hope to build on that total before the big day.

We’ll be sharing more updates as we get closer to the event. Wish us luck!

Due to bad weather conditions our charity skydive is unable to go ahead today and will be postponed to a future date.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated up to this point, we have now raised over £3000!

Today's the day!

In a matter of hours, 5 of our SGC Head Office colleagues be taking on a 15,000ft charity skydive in support of Southampton Hospitals Charity.

What started as a fundraising challenge has grown into something truly special. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our clients, partners, colleagues, friends and family, we've already exceeded our target of £2500.

The funds raised will help support children undergoing cancer treatment by enabling more care to be delivered at home, allowing children to spend more time with their families and less time in hospital.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our campaign and offered words of encouragement along the way. Your support means a great deal to all of us.

Now we're just hoping the weather is as supportive as everyone else has been!
