My productivity plan this week:

🟢 Focus
🟢 Finish things
🟢 Be efficient

My actual brain:
🟠 “Just quickly check that…”
🟠 “Ooo I forgot about this…”
🟠 “Now feels like a great time to reorganise everything”

Sound familiar?

When your brain feels like it’s constantly changing lanes, it’s easy to think you’re unfocused or undisciplined. Most of the time, it’s not that at all - it’s overload.

Clarity doesn’t come from trying harder or pushing through. It comes from reducing what your brain is being asked to hold at once.

Too many tabs (mental and digital).
Too many half-started tasks.
Too many “just one more things”.

When you simplify - fewer priorities, fewer switches, fewer decisions - your brain settles. And when it settles, work suddenly feels… easier.

Not effortless. Just calmer. And that’s usually when things actually get finished.

Give it a try!

You sat down to work.
Then one email came in.
Then another.
Then you remembered something.
Then you opened a tab.
Then suddenly you’re stood in the kitchen replying to a message with a cold cup of Yorkshire Tea in your hand.

You started the day with best intentions. You didn’t “get distracted.” You got pulled in ten directions.

This is why focused time blocks and clear priorities are so powerful - they give your brain something solid to stand on.

If you want to try it:

🟠 Pick one task.
🟠 Set a timer for 30 minutes.
🟠 Close everything else.
🟠 No inbox, no socials, no “just quickly checking”.

Do one thing properly, then stop and reset.

It sounds simple, but it’s amazing how much calmer (and more productive) your day feels when you stop letting it run you.

We’re just over a week away from Christmas… and the pressure suddenly feels VERY real 😅

- Orders to finish
- Posts you meant to write
- Projects that should’ve been wrapped up
- …oh and all the “life stuff” too

If your brain is screaming, “there’s still SO much to do!” …take a breath with me.

Here’s a little reality check that saves my clients every single year:

🟢 What actually MUST be done before Christmas? (If it impacts customers, deadlines, or money - it stays)

🟠 What would be nice to get done? (Great if it happens… zero disasters if it doesn’t)

🔴 What belongs on the ‘New Year List’? (No one needs a new strategy, a full content plan + office reorganisation this week)

You are allowed to pause the goals that don’t fit in this year anymore.

If you:
✔ Deliver what matters
✔ Communicate clearly
✔ Protect a little headspace
…that’s a win. A big one.

Give yourself the gift of enough.

And if you need help choosing what’s urgent vs. what can wait? Or even want to hand a couple of things off so you can enjoy the mulled wine without guilt… you know where I am ❤️

If you emptied a 1,000-piece jigsaw on the table and tried to complete every section at once, you’d get nowhere.

Total overwhelm.
Zero progress.
Lots of sighing.

Your business works exactly the same way.

When you’re trying to:
– Fix your website
– Reply to clients
– Plan your socials
– Create content
– Do finances
– and clean your inbox
….....all at the same time, no wonder you feel scattered.

Do what every jigsaw pro does:
🟠 Start with the edges - the easy wins
🟠 Find the corners - the tasks with real impact
🟠 Then work one section at a time

Piece by piece.
Section by section.
That’s how the bigger picture comes together.

Overwhelm happens when you try to complete the whole puzzle in one sitting. Progress happens when you just focus on the next piece.

If you need help sorting the pile, I’m right here. 👋

When I look outside and see the rain pouring down, even I feel my motivation slide a little. Everything feels heavier, slower, and a bit meh.

On days like this, don’t push yourself to do everything. Yes, I know you need to do everything, but is it likely? No!

Just choose one task - the one that would make today feel worthwhile if it was the only thing you managed - and do that first.

It might be:
✔ Sending that email you’ve been avoiding
✔ Finishing the draft that keeps moving day to day
✔ Doing the one thing future-you will be grateful for

Rain might slow the outside down, but it doesn’t need to slow you down.

Start small. One solid win on a rainy day counts as big progress.

You know that feeling - you’ve ticked off five tasks, yet somehow the list looks longer?

That’s not failure. That’s the small business spiral: new ideas, incoming emails, “quick” jobs that turn into time thieves.

Try this: Instead of one big to-do list, make two:
🟠 Today List – just what has to be done.
🟠 Holding List – everything else can wait.

You’ll finish more, stress less, and finally feel that satisfying “done” moment again.

👉 If your lists keep running your life, not the other way round, drop me a message and I can help you bring back the calm and the focus.

You see someone post about a new course, app, planner, or social media strategy - and suddenly you’re wondering if that’s the missing piece.
Spoiler: it’s probably not.

Most small business owners don’t need more tools - they need more focus.

Before you change direction again, ask yourself:

🟠 Does this align with my goals?
🟠 Will it simplify my life or just add more to it?

It might not feel like it, but your success isn’t necessarily hiding in the next trend - it’s in doing the right things consistently.

You know what you are doing, you are amazing at it. Keep focused and consistent (promise it works!)

It’s Halloween, and for many small business owners, the scariest thing isn’t a ghost or a ghoul…it’s that terrifying to-do list that’s been creeping up behind you all month. 👀

If your workload feels a bit monster-sized right now, here are 3 quick ways to keep the fear at bay:

🟠 1. Do a 15-minute brain dump
Get every task (big and small) out of your head and onto paper. Ghosts are always scarier in the dark.

🟠 2. Pick your top 3
You can’t slay every monster in one night. Focus on the things that will actually move you forward.

🟠 3. Protect your time
No “just one more thing” - set a clear end to your day and close the laptop before the witching hour.

👻 Your business doesn’t need a superhero. It just needs a plan - and a little less overwhelm.

Here’s to a Halloween filled with treats (and a to-do list that’s a little less terrifying).

You know that Monday morning feeling when your brain’s full, your inbox is fuller, and your to-do list looks like a shopping receipt?

Here’s a quick 10-minute reset to bring a bit of calm back before the chaos begins:

🟠 Step 1: Brain dump everything

Get everything out of your head and onto paper - no filters, no order, just a full unload.

🟠 Step 2: Pick ONE priority

Not three. Not five. Just one thing that actually moves you forward today.

🟠 Step 3: Ground yourself before diving in

Coffee. A quick walk with your dog. Music. Whatever clears the static before you start.

You don’t need to ‘catch up’ on Monday.

You just need to start where you are - and keep it simple.

Be more like a tree this autumn 🍂

Every year, trees drop thousands of leaves without:
❌ A productivity app
❌ Guilt about letting go
❌ A pros and cons list
❌ Worrying what other trees think

Meanwhile, I'm over here clinging to commitments from 2023, projects I'll "definitely finish someday," and a to-do list that would make a hoarder nervous.

Turns out, trees know something about productivity that most of us have forgotten: sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to stop doing things and let the leaves fall.

Want to know what trees can teach you about strategic letting go, seasonal energy, and graceful exits? My new blog post is live with the full breakdown (plus a practical guide to your own "autumn audit").

Link in bio or drop me a note and I'll send it direct!
