Do you love or loathe AI and what it’s doing to creativity?
We used to:
• brainstorm on whiteboards
• write dissertations from our own brains
• manually cut backgrounds out pixel by pixel on Photoshop
• edit videos frame by frame
• rewrite captions 20 times until one landed
• stay up until 2am figuring things out
Now you can type:
“write me a viral caption”
“make me a logo”
“generate me a presentation”
“edit this video”
“plan my content”
and it’s done in 10 seconds.
Don't get us wrong, AI is useful and we've reaped huge benefits from it as a company.
It saves time. It helps people start businesses. It makes ideas more accessible. It helps people who struggle with writing/design/editing.
But at the same time, it makes you question what skills we're slowly losing because of it? Are we becoming more productive or less creative? Is AI helping people learn or helping people skip learning entirely?
There’s something MAD about realising that an entire generation will:
• never have to sit with 15 tabs open researching properly
• never have to sit staring at a blank Word doc for hours on end
• never have to create from absolutely nothing
We honestly can’t decide where we stand with it sometimes!!
Do you think AI is making people smarter or lazier? 🤔💭
