Such a beautiful rare item to behold! It is one of only two pieces, that currently exist worldwide, with silk warps.
Usually, this type of Syrian Aleppo tapestry textile is woven with cotton-only warps - not silk. A stunning item 😍

CAMERA! LIGHTS! ACTION!

We have some really exciting news to share with our Friends…

Due to the huge interest garnered by our Syrian and Lebanese Textiles of the Ottoman Era Exhibition - currently premiering at the renowned Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum in Istanbul, we have since been approached by various Media and TV Studios, with requests for articles and interviews about these rare antique exhibits.

We are thrilled to announce that we have just completed filming a Podcast Interview with the well-known TV presenter: همام حبيب Homam Habib at WOW TV Studios in Istanbul. The film studio was decorated with further never-before-seen pieces from our collection of rare antique Syrian and Lebanese Ottoman tapestry-woven textiles.

During the Interview, we discussed the history of the weave, its origins and our current exhibition, where we are looking forward to sharing the programme with you, when it airs on TV shortly.

Meanwhile, we received some further fantastic news: due to its overwhelming success, our Exhibition has now been extended at the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum until the 15th September. Here you can visit and view the exhibits that stand as a testament to this iconic weaving legacy of the Ottoman Era. Thereby preserving a historical record of woven artisan heritage that is forever encapsulated in these beautiful, timeless pieces.
