I wrote something this week that I think a lot of small business owners need to read.

If you’ve been investing in SEO and wondering why it feels like it’s not working as hard as it used to, this is probably why.

The way people search for businesses has fundamentally shifted. Google, ChatGPT, Siri, Copilot - they’re all generating answers now, not just lists of links. And if your business isn’t showing up in those answers, you’re invisible to a growing chunk of your potential customers.

Most small business owners have heard of SEO. Far fewer have heard of AEO or GEO. And that gap is quietly costing people customers every day.

In my latest blog post, I break down:
- What SEO, AEO, and GEO actually are (in plain English)
- Why the search landscape has changed so dramatically
- Why acting now matters more than waiting to “see how it plays out”

Why working with a small business specialist makes more sense than a big agency

I also share what we’re doing at CK and Jones to help small businesses, freelancers, and solopreneurs get visible across all of it, without the big-agency price tag.

check out the article here:

If this resonates, share it with someone who’s still only thinking about SEO. They’ll thank you for it.

Your customers love you. But can AI find you?

The way people search is changing. Instead of Google, more and more people are asking AI tools:

“Who’s a good therapist near me?”
“Where’s the best Thai restaurant near me?”
“Who can help my small business with marketing?”

And AI gives them one answer. The question is: is it you, or your competitor?

Even if you’re brilliant at what you do, AI may not understand your business yet: what you offer, where you’re based, or what makes you different.

That’s why we created the AI Visibility Audit at CK and Jones.

For £97, we check your business and send you a clear, practical report showing:

✅ whether AI can find you
✅ what AI understands about you
✅ whether competitors are showing up instead
✅ your AI Visibility Score
✅ the top 3 things to fix first

You work hard to be seen, trusted and chosen. Now let’s make sure AI can see you too.

See where you stand today:

A lot of small business owners I speak to are working so hard behind the scenes.

They are serving customers, replying to messages, doing the admin, managing bookings, creating posts, updating websites, learning new tools and trying to keep everything going.

And many of them are brilliant at what they do.

But one thing I am noticing more and more is this:

The way people find small businesses is changing.

People are not only searching on Google anymore. They are starting to ask AI tools for recommendations, ideas and trusted local services.

Things like:

“Who is a good therapist near me?”
“Where can I find a reliable local beauty business?”
“Who can help my small business with marketing?”
“Where is the best Thai restaurant near me?”

And AI gives them an answer.

For small businesses, this matters.

Because even if you are good, even if your customers love you, and even if you have years of experience, AI may not clearly understand your business yet.

It may not know:

✅ what you offer
✅ where you are based
✅ who you help
✅ why people trust you
✅ what makes you different

That is why we created our AI Visibility Audit at CK and Jones.

It is a simple starting point for small businesses who want to understand how they appear in AI search.

For £97, we check your business and give you a clear, practical report showing:

✅ whether AI can find your business
✅ what AI currently understands about you
✅ whether competitors are appearing instead
✅ your AI Visibility Score
✅ the top 3 things to improve first

This is not about making AI complicated.

It is about helping small businesses stay visible as the way people search changes.

You already work hard to be seen, trusted and chosen.

Now let’s make sure AI can see you too.

Start by seeing where your business stands today.

You can begin with a one-off AI Visibility Audit, and then work with us further if you would like support improving your visibility step by step.

A lot of small businesses are still thinking about visibility mainly in terms of social media and Google.

That still matters.

But another layer is starting to become important: whether AI tools can understand, trust and recommend your business.

When someone asks an AI tool:

“Who is a good local service provider near me?”
“Which small business can help with this?”
“What should I look for when choosing someone?”

The answer it gives will depend on what it can find, understand and verify about that business.

This is where many small businesses may have a gap.

Not because they are not good at what they do.

But because their online presence may not clearly explain:

what they offer
who they help
where they are based
why they are credible
what makes them different
what customers already say about them

AI visibility is not about chasing trends or replacing SEO.

It is about making sure your business is clear, consistent and trusted across the places people and AI systems look for information.

For small businesses, this matters because visibility is no longer just about posting more.

It is about being understood.

At CK and Jones, we are helping small businesses start with a simple AI Visibility Audit so they can see where they stand, what AI currently understands about them, and what can be improved first.

This is still a new area for many businesses, which means there is a real opportunity to get ahead early.

If you are a small business owner, it may be worth asking:

Can people find you on Google?
Can people trust you on social media?
And now, can AI understand and recommend you?

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending ATBUK’s exclusive member talk, AngloThai: A Journey to Michelin Star, with John Chantarasak, Chef and Co-Founder of AngloThai.

What stayed with me most was John’s reminder that behind a MICHELIN Star is not only exceptional food. It is identity, persistence, creativity, years of refinement and a story that goes far beyond the plate.

John spoke about how embracing both sides of his heritage has shaped AngloThai’s identity, from his British life in Liverpool and Wales to his Thai heritage and wider multicultural influences. Rather than trying to fit into one category, he has built a concept that celebrates those influences and turns them into one of AngloThai’s greatest strengths.

His journey also reminded me that success is rarely instant. It is built over time through pop-ups, testing concepts, learning, refining, continuing when there is no guarantee of success, and staying committed to something original.

My key lessons from this event:

1. Identity can be a source of innovation: What makes us different can become our strongest advantage.
2. Mastery takes time: Excellence is built through patience, practice and continuous refinement.
3. Originality matters: The most powerful concepts are often the ones rooted in a genuine story.
4. Excellence is never achieved alone: Behind every great achievement is a team, a community and people who believe in the journey.

A huge thank you to John Chantarasak for sharing his inspiring journey, insights and time so generously.

Thank you also to and the Royal Thai Embassy, London for making this meaningful session possible.

Also glad to be joined by that traveled from Brighton to London with me to the event. We had so much fun.

I left feeling inspired, encouraged and reminded that authenticity, persistence and purpose can create something truly remarkable.
