Rock House is situated in the White Rock area of Hastings town centre, and is an ambitious mixed-use project that breathes new life into a previously underused building. sm and contribution to the building and the wider community. White Rock Neighbourhood Ventures (WRNV) set out with the objective to acquire and redevelop Rock House as a ‘co-habitation’ space. (co-housing, co-working, collaborative creative space.) WRNV is a joint venture between three social enterprise organisations. These are Meanwhile Space CIC, Jericho Road Solutions and the White Rock Trust. These organisations provide leadership, ownership, management, investment and development roles. WRNV took ownership of the building in summer 2014, and held it’s grand opening on the 4th March, 2016. The redevelopment was funded by Big Issue Invest, The Power to Change, Meanwhile Space CIC, Jericho Road Solutions and DCLG . The redeveloped building spreads over nine floors, has 425 squares of living space, and 804 square metres of work space. Rock House fosters creative enterprise and has generated jobs and self-employment, and continually proves that Hastings is a place to visit, live and work.
