Robyn Saffer Counselling and Psychotherapy for Young People and Adults

Robyn Saffer Counselling and Psychotherapy for Young People and Adults I am an experienced therapist, qualified and accredited to work with adolescents, adults and parents. Sessions available in person and via video call.

I aim to have a unique relationship with each client, where we can think about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour so you can make positive and lasting changes. People attend therapy for many reasons. I have worked with clients of all ages, with a range of issues including: depression, anxiety, bereavement, miscarriage, parenting struggles, lack of confidence/self esteem, cultural identity and r

elationship problems. It is really important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. I offer an initial 20 minute chat so that you and I can decide if we want to work together.

Hi everyone!
We are Robyn and Laura
We have created Thinking-Together About Parenting Teens to promote good mental health in pre-teens and teenagers.
We are both psychotherapists who have worked extensively with adolescents and parents.
As parents ourselves, believe us, we know how difficult it can be!
We are also aware of the growing numbers of young people with mental health difficulties and want to raise awareness of the crucial role you, as parents, play in promoting good mental health in your child.
Adolescent behaviour is erratic. It can be hard to know what is normal adolescent behaviour and when you need to be concerned about your teenager.
As a parent you can feel rejected one minute, when your child is staying in their room, the next minute they want you NOW whilst you’re in the middle of doing something. It can be confusing and exhausting.
We know you don’t have a manual and we want to help you understand your adolescent child’s behaviour, to know which parenting style works best and the signs to look out for when your child needs help.

Following a bereavement, you may experience feelings similar to shock, despair, denial, anger, fear, guilt, anxiety, relief and sadness. Whilst these feelings are perhaps difficult to manage, it is comforting to know that they are perfectly ‘normal’ emotions following a sudden or anticipated bereavement.
