Fees
Session fees start at £70 for an individual 50 minute session and £105 for an initial consultation. Reductions are sometimes available for people on low income. Prices for couples and families available on request. I run an agency where each of the other counsellors also offer reduced fee in certain circumstances. I also provide supervision to Counsellors and Trainees. Online, email or telephone counselling available. I contract with individuals, couples and families, both short or long term, working with issues that include; anxiety and stress, physical and sexual abuse, bereavement, drug and alcohol misuse and addiction, eating disorders, effects of su***de, r**e, and trauma. I have particular interests in mental health and nutrition. I work with the client’s historical background in mind, believing that past events and relationships have a major influence on who my client is today and how they react and respond to others. I use interpretations to help my client make links between their internal and external world; internal being their relationship between parts of their psyche, and external being their relationships with others. Hopefully this will enable them to see the discrepancies between the two and assist them to become aware of and embrace both their ‘dark’ and ‘light’ side. I consider that change is rooted in the relationship between the client and me, and consequently that’s where the healing starts. I consider that how the client responds to me is indicative of how they respond to others. I see therapy as a gradually unfolding, ever-changing process, where my empathic, non-judgemental, authentic attitude empowers my clients to trust in it. These conditions help me get closer to their feelings and assumptive world, making it easier for them to work towards autonomy and ‘realness’. Authenticity is especially important to me. Clients pick up on things about therapists, and not only through the transference. I have difficulty believing a client-therapist relationship can be real if I am too opaque yet take great care that any transparency is appropriate and ther**eutically beneficial.
