Fees

Session fees start at £70 for an individual 50 minute session and £105 for an initial consultation. Reductions are sometimes available for people on low income. Prices for couples and families available on request. I run an agency where each of the other counsellors also offer reduced fee in certain circumstances. I also provide supervision to Counsellors and Trainees. Online, email or telephone counselling available. I contract with individuals, couples and families, both short or long term, working with issues that include; anxiety and stress, physical and sexual abuse, bereavement, drug and alcohol misuse and addiction, eating disorders, effects of su***de, r**e, and trauma. I have particular interests in mental health and nutrition. I work with the client’s historical background in mind, believing that past events and relationships have a major influence on who my client is today and how they react and respond to others. I use interpretations to help my client make links between their internal and external world; internal being their relationship between parts of their psyche, and external being their relationships with others. Hopefully this will enable them to see the discrepancies between the two and assist them to become aware of and embrace both their ‘dark’ and ‘light’ side. I consider that change is rooted in the relationship between the client and me, and consequently that’s where the healing starts. I consider that how the client responds to me is indicative of how they respond to others. I see therapy as a gradually unfolding, ever-changing process, where my empathic, non-judgemental, authentic attitude empowers my clients to trust in it. These conditions help me get closer to their feelings and assumptive world, making it easier for them to work towards autonomy and ‘realness’. Authenticity is especially important to me. Clients pick up on things about therapists, and not only through the transference. I have difficulty believing a client-therapist relationship can be real if I am too opaque yet take great care that any transparency is appropriate and ther**eutically beneficial.

I'm not sure if you guys are aware but as well as being a Counsellor/Psychotherapist/Supervisor/Trainer, I'm also an independent Funeral Celebrant. A Celebrant is the person that takes the service for a loved one. Independent means that although celebrants can be booked via a Funeral Director, you can also book me directly.

I provide religious and non-religious celebrations of life.

Many people think that celebrants can't take a religious ceremony. They can but not inside a church without explicit permission from the priest.

They can include things in the service for your loved one, like the Lord's prayer, a hymn or a reading from the Bible. It's entirely your choice.

Many people aren't aware they can choose a venue and that the service doesn't have to be in a church or crematorium. It can take place in a club that your loved one was a member of, your garden, on a beach, or in woodlands. You may need to seek permission for some of these but that's not a difficult thing to do.

This is never an easy subject to talk about and people are often thrown into arranging their loved one's funeral with no prior experience. I'm here to guide you through the process.

I'll meet with you and/or your family and take you through planning your loved one's final farewell. I'll explain everything to you and support you every step of the way in this difficult time.

I'll order the music of your choice, talk to you about tributes, suggest poems and video clips and help you compose anything you'd like said on the day of the service. I'll also liaise with the Funeral Director so everyone knows your wishes.

I'm empathic and caring and bring an additional skill set having been in helping and support professions for decades.

I cover Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London. Please call 01707 707957 or 07508 934271 if you've recently lost a loved one and need a celebrant.

I'm fully qualified, insured and a member of the AOIC.

Death is a difficult subject to talk about but there will come a time when we all lose someone dear to us.

My 25 year's experience as a counsellor means as a funeral celebrant, I can offer truly empathic support and talk you through all the options available to you.

I can promise you a service that will honour your loved one in a way that's befitting of them.

I will help you personalise their farewell with music, photos or video and can arrange doves, bagpipes or anything extra of your choosing.

We can feel totally lost when having to arrange a funeral. As a celebrant I can guide you through this difficult process with kindness, consideration for your grief and professionalism with no obligation to use me as your celebrant.

I cover funerals in Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London.
