🏳️‍🌈 What a day in Portsmouth! 🏳️‍🌈

Today our team had the privilege of providing security for the Portsmouth Pride Community Festival – Unity Gathering at Guildhall Square.

As an Official Partner of Portsmouth Pride, Sentinel is incredibly proud to play our part in supporting events that bring our community together and provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

We couldn’t be prouder of the Sentinel team today. From the early morning set-up right through to the end of the event, everyone represented us brilliantly — professional, approachable, friendly and focused throughout.

Good security isn’t just about keeping people safe. It’s about doing it while being welcoming, positive and allowing people to enjoy the event and atmosphere around them.

A huge thank you to Portsmouth Pride for continuing to trust Sentinel as an Official Partner, and an even bigger thank you to our fantastic team on the ground today. ❤️

You did Sentinel proud. 🛡️🏳️‍🌈

🎉🐾 HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY TO K9 CASSIE! 🐾🎉

Our K9 Cassie turns 4 today! 🥳🐕‍🦺

We’d love to write the usual soppy birthday post about how sweet, loving and friendly she is… but anyone who actually knows Cassie would know we were lying. 😂

Cassie has a very small friendship circle. Most of us give her a respectfully wide berth, and we’re fairly convinced that, given enough time and motivation, she would eat through the metal cage just to get to most of us. 😂

She’s certainly not winning Employee Most Likely to Make Friends anytime soon — but as a working dog, being slightly terrifying is hardly a disadvantage!

What she lacks in people skills, she more than makes up for on the job. She’s a cracking working dog, knows exactly what she’s there to do and takes her role very seriously. You certainly know when Cassie’s on shift! 💪🐕‍🦺

Happy Birthday, Cassie! 🖤🐾

Four years of attitude, questionable life choices, doing a bloody good job and making sure everyone respects her personal space. 😂

🎉🐾 Yesterday was a very special day for one of our own... 🐾🎉

Happy 5th Birthday to our beautiful K9 Athena! 💖

Yesterday was all about being a dog. Athena got to spend her birthday surrounded by the people and dogs she loves most – celebrating with her human brothers and sisters, her human mummy and daddy, and of course her brother, K9 Loki. Plenty of love, cuddles and attention... exactly as it should be! 🩷🎂

Of course, there was no rest for the wicked... today it's straight back to work, doing what she does best. Protecting people and property with the same loyalty, drive and dedication she shows every single day.

Athena isn't just an exceptional working dog – she's family. She's a huge part of Sentinel Security K9, and we're incredibly proud of the confident, loving and reliable girl she's grown into.

Happy 5th Birthday, Athena. Here's to many more years of adventures, wagging tails, deployments and keeping everyone safe. ❤️🐾

One very happy girlie! 🐾💖

🛡️🐕‍🦺 SENTINEL SECURITY K9 🐕‍🦺🛡️

Whilst Portsmouth Pride was unfortunately cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the responsibility to protect the site remained.

Following the decision to cancel the event, our K9 Unit remained deployed throughout the site breakdown operation, helping to protect infrastructure, equipment, vehicles and event assets whilst contractors and suppliers worked to safely dismantle the site.

Build and break periods often present some of the highest security risks, with valuable equipment on site and increased opportunities for theft, damage and unauthorised access. Our K9 teams provided a highly visible deterrent, assisting with asset protection, site security and crime prevention throughout the operation.

A special mention goes to K9 Loki and K9 Rupert, who remained operational throughout the deployment and played an important role in maintaining a safe and secure environment during challenging conditions.

We would also like to thank Portsmouth Pride, the contractors, suppliers, volunteers and fellow security professionals who worked tirelessly throughout the build and breakdown phases to erect, secure and safely dismantle the site in challenging weather conditions.
