Support Services 1st Choice are looking for support staff to provide care to service users in their own homes across various locations in the Scottish Borders.

Whether you are new to care or experienced, we would love to hear from you.

**Please note we are not currently recruiting from overseas and are not able to provide visa sponsorship currently**

As a member of our team, you will access to a large database of online training courses to enhance and develop your goals. You will also receive face to face training with our dedicated team of trainers.

Job description

As part of our team your main duties will include:

Delivering high standards of care to service users in their own home.
Meeting the care needs of service users in a personal centered approach.
Working with health and social care standards in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Providing a full range of support from personal care to administration of medication.
Ensuring the protection, wellbeing, and safety of services users
Effective communication written and oral.

Work Patterns:

Paid per block of support.

Support ranges from 7am to 10pm.

Essential Criteria:

Reliable, Trustworthy, and dedicated
To work as part of a team and independently
Access to a Smartphone
Eligible to work in the UK.
Flexible to work in multiples environments and locations.
Must be flexible and willing to work at short notice.
Good communication skills.
Desirable

Candidates with a full driving license and access to a vehicle preferred but not essential
Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme.

The Role

A Registered Manager is needed to manage the growth of the business and the Hawick region as part of our expanding team. In your capacity as manager, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of providing high-calibre leadership for staff and be at ease handling the business-related facets of managing the organisation. You will be a proactive and resilient leader who will build your team to provide our clients with excellent and extraordinary support and care services.

Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with statutory requirements, and company policy and procedures.
Participate in training and development to stay current on changes to company policy, care inspectorate regulations, and governmental law and best practises.
Recognize and keep track of health and safety in the workplace and on the job.
Communicate with carers via telephone, face to face and email on a regular basis.
Ensure that a written, personally designed plan for care and support has been established and approved and that it honours the client's preferences and fosters their dignity and privacy.
Support each client's rights and maintain their preferences at the heart of their care and support.
Ascertain that a client assessment and risk assessment have been performed with the client and/or their designated representatives before the start of each service. Include in this evaluation the goals the client has for their care and support.
To provide leading homecare services, use outstanding communication skills with clients, their families and representatives, staff, and other health and social care experts.
Maintain the security and privacy of all data regarding clients and their families.
Determine continuing training requirements of staffs and ensure staffs are knowledgeable about current practises.
Ensure that all emergency on-call situations are appropriately handled, including
covering calls directly or indirectly when care providers are ill or absent.
Ensure that there are always enough staffs who are sufficiently trained and qualified to meet service demands.
Essential Criteria

Recent Managerial Community Care experience. We will give consideration to anyone with management experience in other business
Ideally SVQ 4 or nursing qualification
Understanding of Care Inspectorate Guidelines
IT literate
