I don't find it super easy to 'put myself out there', to find labels, create an image, to describe what I do and make it easier for people that want support to find me. And occasionally it seems like it's time. Here's what feels true. If you have any feedback I would love to hear, especially if you have been in spaces with me x

It's simple and easy to say 'be with' whatever comes up, 'allow' feelings... and yet I see I'm still learning the subtle art.

It's such a fine line between being open to what anything wants to express or share, and trying to make it explain because really we want it to go away. (That goes the same for ourselves as for a friend.)

Each time I do things to try and not have some feelings, or change them, I'm reaffirming the belief and pattern in my system that feelings aren't safe to feel, that I need to limit their intensity and expression.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT ANY MORE. I can be with any feelings. I've ridden many waves and I'm still here.

Nervous system regulation, titration, the window of tolerance, resourcing... I'm grateful for all of those insights and skills, they have been and still are so helpful... and I also am seeing how they can affirm old beliefs: ''i have to get back to safety (because I'm not safe)'.

Nothing is bad. All of these ways, and distraction, numbing, submission, rebellion... they are all good strategies to have.

AND increasingly i want to say 'hi, I feel you, welcome', to stay with whatever is coming up for a while and witness it, accompany it.

And when another energy is there that wants the intensity or discomfort to go away, that wants it to change, ease, reveal itself, explain itself, remembering that I can say to that too, 'hi, I feel you, welcome'.

So yeah, I support others to be with their internal world, and I'm still learning too. It's an art, a practice.

My commitment is to take time each day to practice being with. Rebuilding that internal trust a moment at a time. And sometimes I eat cake instead ;)

With gratitude for all the many practices and people that got me to here, where mostly I can breathe easy ###

Our Body-Mind (Soma) is an amazing organism trying to guide us back to balance and wholeness, to integrate what we had to hide and suppress in the past. We can re-learn how to allow our natural process to show us the way - with permission, not pressure. If you would like a little support along the way, feel free to get in touch x

"I'm a broken human being. I feared everything… and now someone fears me. … They told me I was now an angel for God. That's powerful. … People like me, we are ego-maniacs with no self esteem, that's what makes us fu***ng violent."

"IT IS SO MUCH EASIER TO SAY 'I HATE…', THAN 'I AM AFRAID'."

There is so much insight in this courageous woman's mission to understand the far right. So much to understand from others who have lived different lives, and know why from the inside.
It is not always easy to listen. No-one should have to.
And I'm so grateful to the ones who can and do, who show the way.

So often when there is division and polarisation, we feel a sense of despair, hopelessness, tension. Many of us have experienced escalating violence, people excluded, stress leading to burnout. Yes it is challenging, so hard at times, so much can come up… and something else can also be possible. I'm starting to collate examples of communities navigating conflict in generative ways that might inspire us to see more possibilities. If you know if other projects, stories, films, books, resources to add, please let me know...

At its core, 'Nonviolence' means minimising harm. It's a moment by moment commitment, to tune into what's here, to act from integrity, to live from love.

And yet it's not as simple as it sounds. We have strong examples of nonviolent resistance, and there's a wealth of insights and tools from nonviolent communication, and yet something about this way of life is hard to put into words.

There's no rule book, no formula to follow. It's not pacifism, it's not sitting by, and it's not doing what people want you to do. Often there will still be harm, and even our conscious choices will bring up pain. This too is part of the journey.

We all carry so many layers from our life so far and our social training - our hurts and sensitivities, our patterns and habitual strategies, our identity and core beliefs. To find what's true, beyond fear, hatred and delusion is the deepest dive you'll take, and it's a moment by moment choice.

It's a rich, raw and alive way to live. Sometimes we need to take more time to process than a situation demands. Sometimes it's not clear what's from love and what's from fear. Sometimes our habits and beliefs are so strong, it's hard to see other possibilities. Often I need others to bounce off, to process with, to tell me what they see, and help me find clarity.

If you feel the call to nonviolence, if you are committed and finding it a stretch, if you could do with some support from others on this path, who do you have alongside that you could reach out to?

If you would like some support from me, I offer one to one sessions on a donation basis. Feel free to get in touch : [email protected] / +447974308907.

I'm supporting a few people one to one to move through conflict and navigate difficult conversations. It can be a stressful time, but also such a gateway to more growth, self connection and inner strength. It takes courage to look at all the layers of ourselves, and risk stepping towards someone when there is tension. If you would like a bit of support, or know someone who might, feel free to drop me a message. I work on a donation basis x
