Friday was another brilliant night for GreenGenUK at the National Energy Efficiency Awards! 🏆

We may not have quite managed to go two places better than last year, but we were delighted to receive a Special Commendation in the National Renewable Heat Installer & Contractor of the Year category.

And the biggest congratulations of the night goes to our Sales Manager, Elizabeth Sinikas, who finished 2nd in the UK for National Business Development Manager of the Year, among 13 other finalists! 👏

It’s fantastic recognition for the work Elizabeth has put in over the last year, and particularly rewarding given the award considers not just business growth, but customer outcomes, energy savings, community impact and the delivery of energy-efficiency schemes.

Incredibly proud of the whole GreenGenUK team for another strong showing on the national stage.

🏆 We have once again been shortlisted at the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2026 for National Renewable Heat Installer & Contractor of the Year.

After finishing 3rd nationally last year, we’re delighted to be back in the running and naturally, we’ll be hoping to go a couple of places better this time!

There’s even more good news this year, as our Sales Manager Elizabeth Sinikas has also been shortlisted for National Business Development Manager of the Year. 👏

The award recognises individuals making a real impact in the sales of energy-efficiency sector, looking at the scale and quality of their work, customer outcomes, energy savings and the successful delivery of government-backed energy-efficiency schemes.

We recently completed this solar and battery installation in Helston. The customer’s feedback has made us every bit as proud as the finished system.

Another local solar and battery installation completed in Helston, only a short distance from our GreenGenUK HQ. ☀️🔋

This home energy system includes:

☀️ 9 × 490 W AIKO solar panels
⚡ 4.41 kWp of installed solar capacity
🔋 2 × Fox ESS EP12 Plus batteries
⚙️ 3.68 kW Fox ESS H1 G2 hybrid inverter
🏠 Fox ESS EPS home backup equipment

The solar panels generate renewable electricity during the day. Meanwhile, the batteries can store surplus energy for use later in the evening or overnight.

The homeowner can also charge the batteries with lower-cost grid electricity through a suitable time-of-use tariff. This provides greater control over when the property imports and uses electricity.

The Fox ESS backup equipment adds further protection during a power cut, subject to the inverter’s output and available battery charge.

Our team installed the inverter, batteries and backup equipment neatly together in the garage. On the roof, the black AIKO panels create a clean finish around the existing roof features.

We’ve recently completed an installation in Plymouth, and our customer left us exactly the kind of review every team loves to receive 💚:

🔹 A Vaillant air source heat pump
🔹 A new hot-water cylinder and controls
🔹 Two Panasonic RAC Solo Air-conditioning units

What makes this review particularly pleasing is that the customer’s positive experience continued throughout the entire journey, from dealing with Sophia, Amelia, Lauren and Andrew in the office, through to Greg completing the plumbing and Adam carrying out the electrical work and commissioning on site.

“Their good humour, patience (with my questions!) and all-round ‘can do’ attitude impressed me tremendously. I am so pleased that my initial positive experiences dealing with the GreenGen office team have carried through into the installation itself.”

A shoutout to young Nick Medlin, our newest plumbing installer, who assisted Max M on this install and even remembered to send us some photos! 📸

A straightforward job:

🔹 2 × latest-generation 12kW three-phase Vaillant aroTHERM plus heat pumps in cascade
🔹 Replacing a problematic ground-source system
🔹 Heating a five-bedroom home across three floors of underfloor heating
🔹 New 400L cylinder, 500L buffer and an indoor swimming-pool heating zone

Only joking! Nick has been with GreenGenUK for 15 years and is one of our most experienced heat pump installers!

In reality, this has been a demanding project, complicated by issues with the existing system and delivery delays.

Our Electrical Manager, Ben B, also played a vital role in the three-phase installation and integrating the new controls.

A huge thank you to our customer for being so reasonable and understanding throughout.

Commissioning today, will be followed by a check-in next week to ensure everything is performing as it should.

🎉 Finished and commissioned ✅

A couple of weeks ago we shared this installation while it was still in progress so here is the finished product!

The completed installation includes:
✅ 2 × Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5kW R290 air source heat pumps operating as a cascaded system.
✅ 400L Telford unvented hot water cylinder.
✅ Purpose-designed hydraulic system with buffer vessel, low-loss header and upgraded cold water arrangement.

☀️ 11.4kWp Solar PV using 24 × AIKO Gen 3 all-black modules
🔋 2 × Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries with backup capability.

The result is a highly efficient, future-ready energy system designed to provide reliable heating, hot water and electricity while dramatically reducing running costs and carbon emissions.

Every pipe, valve and cable has been carefully planned by Ali and Adam to create a system that's as serviceable as it is impressive 👏
