The Pad Project UK is looking for kind-hearted volunteers to help us continue supporting people in our local community with incontinence supplies and essential care products.

Whether you can spare a little time each week, help now and then, or simply want to be part of something that makes a real difference, we would love to hear from you.

By joining us, you’ll be helping to:

• Support local people who may be struggling to access essential supplies
• Organise donated items
• Keep usable products out of landfill

Don’t Dump. Donate. means giving unused and unopened incontinence supplies and care essentials a second purpose, helping people in our community who may be struggling to access the items they need.

It means:

• Keeping perfectly good products out of landfill
• Supporting dignity, comfort, and well-being
• Helping local people when they need it most
• Reducing waste in a meaningful way
• Turning something no longer needed into something truly valuable

Every donated item can make a real difference to someone locally.

A message I received recently reminded me of something that sits at the heart of everything we are trying to build at The Pad Project UK.

People remember how you make them feel.

Whether someone is a member of staff, a volunteer, someone asking us for help, someone making a donation or an organisation wanting to work alongside us – they deserve to be listened to and treated with kindness and respect.

As The Pad Project UK grows, that is something I never want us to lose.

We're ambitious about where we want to take the charity and the number of people we want to reach, but growth should never mean losing the human side of what we do.

Listen.
Encourage.
Support.
Notice when someone needs help.

Sometimes the smallest interaction can have a much bigger impact than we realise.

PAY WON — BUT ONLY JUST! 💷😊

At the Generation Dacorum Careers Fair, we asked students:

WHAT MATTERS MOST TO YOU IN A JOB?

More than 1,000 students attended the event and an amazing 866 votes were added to our board.

The results:

💷 Pay – 250
😊 Enjoying what I do – 248
❤️ Making a difference – 157
👥 Working with people – 83
🕐 Flexibility – 73
📈 Career opportunities – 55

Just TWO votes separated pay and enjoying what I do.

But something else really interested us...

Career opportunities came last.

Does that mean young people aren't thinking about their futures?

We don't think so.

Maybe before we talk to young people about career ladders and progression, we need to give them opportunities to discover what they actually enjoy.

That's one of the reasons By Your Side and The Pad Project UK want to offer young people more than traditional work experience.

We're talking about volunteering, workplace experience, mentoring, CV support, mock interviews and opportunities to develop real skills they can take into their next step.

And our message to young people is:

Don't wait for someone to tell you it's time to get experience.

Use a Saturday morning or a little of your school or college holidays.

Volunteer. Try something new. Build your CV. Meet people. Discover your strengths.

You don't need your whole career figured out yet.

You just need somewhere to start. ❤️
