Last week, Ben, Levi and 2 of our 3 Dan's were all present to watch the Certa Service sponsored University of Herts Men's Basketball squad's well-earned promotion. A hard-fought 57-49 second-leg play-off victory against a talented Bath University outfit means the team will be climbing to the heady heights of the BUCS Prem next season.

We're incredibly proud of our association with both Hemel Storm and the University of Herts Basketball teams. We can't wait for next season and look forward to supporting both teams to even more outstanding successes.

This week we attended the Hotel Restaurant & Catering Show 2022 at the ExCel Centre. It was great to meet and reconnect with suppliers and manufacturers from across all the different hospitality sectors. We found it very encouraging to see such a large footfall at the show, London is buzzing again 😊

This week we're delighted to welcome our new senior engineer Dan Bush. With extensive experience in our industry, Dan will be working hard across our entire portfolio of clients. After a first day spent in the office meeting the team, he's now fully primed and ready to go. We're excited to have another Dan joining the Certa family, and with two other Dan's already on board, at the very least, we'll be sure to save some money on name badges.

Our intrepid business development manager, Andy, has been busy with meetings in London this week. He had a lovely time with the Churchill and Roosevelt sculpture between his appointments. He tried his best, but it turned out they weren't currently in the market for any kitchen equipment repairs.

A Top (Golf) Christmas Day Out

Last week, the Certa team took some well deserved time away from the office to participate in the annual festive Top Golf challenge. Dressed in Christmas jumpers and armed with our trusty clubs and plenty of trash talk, spirits were high.

With an array of trophies and medals on offer, competition was fierce. After some highly dubious initial handicapping, various challenges meant that everybody had a shot a becoming the 2021 Certa Top Golf Champion. Ben's ill-advised lunchtime Jagerbombs put pay to his push for the title, while the halftime burgers and beer weighed down others. After much laughter and despite his shocking swing, Dan2 narrowly outpointed Dan1 to take the trophy in a final shot shootout for the title.

After returning to the office for some 'Not So Secret' Santa presents (and to check on our all-important service calls), we all attempted not to fall asleep before heading out for some more food and drink (all in the name of supporting the hospitality industry of course).

Food, drink, presents and golf (er, maybe not). It's what Christmas is all about right?

Last week we relocated to our new office. Here are a few shots from the moving day.

The new location provides us with extra space so we can accommodate our growing team. You’re more than welcome to pop in have cup of tea and have a chat with the team. Our new office is situated in Hemel Hempstead town centre which is close to the M25, M1 and Hemel Hempstead train station.

Last night in Soho.

It’s great to visit Soho at night, it’s the go-to district for a good time in London. Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. Ben our Graphic Designer picked up his camera and had a wander around the bright lights.

At Certa Service we have a long-standing partnership with our local basketball team Hemel Storm Basketball. Our marketing assistant Levi (pictured) doubles as a player for the team.

Last weekend’s “The Certa Shot” prize, (which we sponsor) was won by the lucky raffle winner. The prize is won by sinking a single shot from anywhere outside the 3 point arc.
