They matter, obviously. You need the numbers, but if you’ve worked with tools for any length of time, you’ll know that a spec sheet doesn’t tell you how a tool is actually going to behave once it starts cutting.

Two cutters can look almost identical on paper and still perform completely differently. One runs clean, stays stable, and gives you the finish you need. The other leaves you chasing problems that were never
obvious from the numbers alone.

That’s why professional engineering equipment is never just about what fits the machine. It’s about what suits the job, the material, and the finish you need at the end of it.

If your pocket holes look rough, your finished job usually does too.

A lot of machines still cut steep, rough pockets that make the work harder than it needs to be. The Castle TSM-22 cuts a clean 6° low-angle pocket, which helps keep the parts where they should be when the
