Silver linings!
That’s what I feel I’ve had. The past few months have helped me to reconnect with my values, reconnect with people that I haven’t spoken to for a long time and reconnect with myself. After acceptance came a veil of peace that this was my time to make some changes and to align myself with my work more.
I’ve updated my branding for my business, I’ve reconnected with clients who I’ve worked with previously and have a great synergy with and have some really exciting pieces of work booked in over the next 6-9 months. I will be continuing with my business but with limited availability - so book early!
I also had the opportunity to apply for a job which some have said was hand written for me! It’s not very often you get a tingly feeling when you get offered an interview, but that’s exactly what I had when I got the email from Sunnyside Rural Trust inviting me to interview. Walking through the rain to the summerhouse and chatting with a member of the team felt like the most natural thing in the world. Then I met Keely Siddiqui Charlick MBE and Emma Power and we had a chat - or at least that’s how it felt! I don’t think I’ve ever been so relaxed and comfortable during an interview.
The next day I got the call - they wanted to offer me the role of Director of Learning & Employment! The fizzy feeling told me it was absolutely the right thing for me. Since then, I have had regular contact with them and each time cements that this role is the right one for me.
I can’t put in to words how much I’m looking forward to starting with them in a couple of weeks time. It won’t be easy, it’s a tough and busy role, but so rewarding and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in!
So for anybody out there struggling, don’t lose hope, believe in yourself and stay true to your values.
Lastly, to everybody who’s supported me in any way over the last 5/6 months, I don’t have the words to thank you all enough.
