What’s your “main character energy”?

This is the core question in the novel I’m currently reading to turn off my busy brain.

It’s called “Book Club Confidential” - I picked it at random through the Amazon Prime first reads.

The characters decide they need to make decisions like their favourite main characters in books …

This is a fun question and has got me pondering …

For me reading is often about dancing between ideas and I realise as I write this that I rarely have any favourites in life.

No favourite colour
No favourite celebrity
No favourite actor
No favourite food
No favourite city
No favourite book genre

I love variety.
What I enjoy depends on the day and my mood

I am a natural idea explorer.
Movement and change are an inherent part of my life.
And I love that.

So I guess my main character energy would be around someone who embraces change and sees possibilities everywhere, supporting others do the same, as they understand what makes their thinking distinct.

If you’ve read a book with a main character like that… do share as I will pop it on my list to read next!

Many expert business owners are stuck in the visibility paradox: The more expertise they have, the more it lives only in them.

Framework Thinking solves that by turning their greatest asset (their thinking) into their greatest business multiplier as we make their thinking visible.

Tomorrow I am taking Framework Thinking® in person to a Bristol Business Mastermind Day run by the amazing Jo Hodge so the participants can get their own boost of clarity and inspiration.

This will be an interactive, action taking morning, that gets attendees sketching the foundational structure that becomes the business operating system that makes growth possible.

I am looking forward to seeing what those in the room develop.

At the weekend I read a BBC article about women carrying most of the mental load at home. It hit home hard. I’ve felt that exhaustion myself.

“What can I help with?” “Where’s such and such?” Sounds helpful. Isn’t. It’s still outsourcing the thinking back to the person already carrying it.

If you run a business, that same load sits on you too. Every question, every “how does this work”, landing back on your desk, over and over.

Karen is a widow coach. Before she had a framework, she explained her own approach from scratch with every new client, every single time. The explaining was hers to carry, whether she had the energy for it or not.

Once the framework existed, named and visual, the explaining stopped being her job. Clients could see where they stood before they even sat down with her.

☂️ The thinking that used to live in her head now lives on the page.
☂️ It does the work. She doesn’t have to carry it.

That’s what Framework Thinking® does. It’s not handing off tasks. It’s building something that answers the question before anyone has to ask it.

👉 Framework Thinking®, the book, is out now on Amazon.

As a service based business owner, your thinking is better than any AI engine.

I believe strongly that developing distinct thinking will be the only way to stand out very soon as thousands are pulling on the probability engines of the large language models. Claude, Gemini, Chat GPT and others.

They have uses. One hundred percent. I use them myself.

But not for when it comes to refining and developing business thinking.

Think of AI like a rough sieve that will catch the most obvious larger stones but let through the smaller golden nuggets.

It’s bringing together those golden nuggets in a unique way that creates distinct thinking, like a hand crafted heirloom jewellery piece.

AI can help you see the bigger patterns but your experience, intuition and relationships brings out the real gold.

It’s not a matter of not using AI at all - it’s about using it in the right amounts, in the right places.

A core test to see if someone has developed their own thinking or outsourced it to AI is to ask them to explain it in detail.

Those who have developed distinct thinking themselves, happily get on podcast, stages and panels to explain more- directly.

The process of research embeds and defines our thinking - the journey is, in many ways more important than the destination when it comes to carving out new methods and frameworks.

Ai cuts the journey time - but it’s highly likely to have bypassed information that your human brain would have picked up and assimilated along the way.

Ideas the fly are memorable, shareable and teachable.

They change the world when embedded in distinct thinking.

That’s where I step in: challenging your thinking then structuring the results to sell.

You probably don’t need another business course.

And you definitely don’t need another weekly Zoom call.

You know your stuff.
You’ve got the client results to prove it.

The problem isn’t knowing more.

It’s turning everything you know into something other people can clearly see, understand and value.

That’s codification.

Finding the frameworks hidden inside the way you work.
Giving your best ideas structure.
Turning your expertise into something that can travel further than you can.

And sometimes you need another pair of strategic eyes to spot the pattern you’re too close to see.

Not more information.
Not another giant to-do list.

Space to think.
A well-timed nudge.
Precision feedback when you hit a knot.

That’s STUDIO.

The place where experts come to think better.

Because this isn’t about narrowing yourself or squeezing into a tighter niche.

It’s about expansion.

More of your thinking captured.
More of your expertise understood.
More impact without more calls.

And this weekend, there’s an opportunity to join STUDIO and save £600.

Think this might be the space you’ve been missing?

DM me STUDIO and we’ll have a no-pressure conversation.

“Creativity is not a talent, it’s a way of operating.
An ability to play
To play is to experiment”

Words from the great Sir Ken Robinson, and it was exactly through play and experimentation that I created this artwork behind me in the photo.

It was developed over a period of weeks. Different layers and textures.
Playing with different materials (3D textures, acrylics and dusts) alongside use of brushes, sticks, sponges and a toothbrush.

Then when I chose the location in our house it started on a white wall … it popped.

But one morning I woke and decided to paint the wall behind hello to really pull the piece into the environment.

It worked beautifully. So well another wall also was painted the same yellow but with a different painting in front.

Why am I sharing this?
Because visual thinking is more than a diagram. A picture. Creativity doesn’t stop at the canvas.

It’s about see the full picture which includes the environment in which it sits.

And it’s no different when your work with me to develop your visual framework, that is step one.

But then we need to embed and embody the framework throughout your business- from website to sales calls to talks to books and more.

And the creativity? That’s already happening inside your business as you serve every client to create the transformation you support.

We just need to uncover the load bearing ideas and bring them into your unique framework, your Authority Framework®

“Susanna, I got in!”
She’d applied to speak at the one conference she’d been circling for three years, and she’d got the yes.

Two days later she messaged again, and this time it was “what on earth am I actually going to say?”

It wasn’t stage fright, because she’s brilliant in a room and always has been.

It was the thirty minutes. Twenty years of expertise and half an hour to make it land in a way that means something to people who’ve never met her.

She’d drafted her summary slide, four times by half past eleven that night, and still had nothing she believed in.

“I don’t want them to just clap, I want them to come and find me afterwards.”

She was searching for the slide people would photograph. The one that lands in the pocket of audience members and gets shared naturally post event.

That’s the honest reason any of us business owners want the stage, isn’t it?

Not the applause, but the coffee break after, having someone walking over to ask how they can work with you.

Most experts don’t lack material for a keynote, they lack shape.

You genuinely can’t say twenty years in thirty minutes, but you can show the structure sitting underneath all of it in about four seconds, provided you’ve got one to show.

Here’s what changes when you have your expertise shaped:

👉 Your keynote stops being all about the words and starts being shown, because the shape is already there and you’re simply filling it in. Plus it has the slide people photograph.

👉 Your book that sits alongside the talk stops being a someday project and becomes a table of contents, with the framework running down the spine of it.

👉 People arrive already understanding what you do, so the conversation starts at when to begin rather than at what it is.

Next year’s stages are being decided from the pitches going out this autumn, which means the framework needs to exist before the deck does.

That’s what AXIS is for. Four weeks, private, just you and me.

I’ve 5 spaces left before I close the diary for the year.

💬 DM me AXIS and I’ll send you the details.
