Karen Sutton had already built a thriving ecosystem around her work as The Widow Coach when she reached out.

A membership community. An eight-month coaching programme. Retreats and events. A podcast and blog. A certification programme in development to train other widow coaches. From the outside, the business looked mature and well-established.

And yet when Karen tried to explain what she actually did, the description felt scattered. There were many programmes and many entry points, but no simple way to describe the journey the women she worked with were actually moving through.

During our work together, we stepped back from the offers entirely and focused on the transformation itself. What actually happens when a widow begins rebuilding life after loss? As we mapped the patterns Karen had witnessed repeatedly across years of client work, the structure became visible.

It was growth after loss. From seed, to sprouting, to a single sunflower standing again, and eventually to three sunflowers representing renewed life, connection, and possibility. The Sunflower Support Approach for Widows emerged from what was already there — a journey Karen had been guiding intuitively for years, now given a name and a visual form that could be understood immediately.

As Karen put it: “This framework absolutely captures the journey that I take the widow on in the work that I do, and also my journey.”

After her first talk the week later in front of 120 women, she shared: “They loved my framework. People took pictures of it.”

The work had always been powerful. The framework made the architecture visible — and opened speaking invitations, media conversations, and the outline of a book she had long sensed was there but could never quite see.

The question is never whether the expertise is there. It almost always is. The question is whether it has been given the structure that lets others encounter it.

There is a particular kind of expert I find myself thinking about a great deal.

They have built something real over years of practice. Deep knowledge, genuine results, a reputation that has grown steadily through the quality of the work itself. They are operating at a level that is, by any honest measure, remarkable.

And they are ready for the ‘next thing’.
Not more clients in the same model.
Not more content in the same rhythm.

Something more structural; the kind of shift that moves them from being an excellent practitioner to being the recognised authority in their field.

The expert whose thinking is sought, whose methodology is referenced, whose name arrives before they do.

What I have observed, consistently, is that this shift does not require starting again. It does not require a new niche, a new offer, or a rebrand.
It requires structure.

The thinking is already there.

The methodology is already running, inside every client session and piece of work produced.

What it lacks is the architecture that makes it visible to the outside world; a named, visual framework that can travel, compound, and build authority independently.

When that structure exists, everything changes in the most natural way. Content becomes easier. Positioning becomes clearer.
The right clients begin arriving already oriented.
The recognition catches up with the results.

This is what I mean when I talk about Framework Thinking®.

“Is there an audio version of your Framework Thinking book?”

Simple answer is no.

I haven’t created an audio version as that’s another huge project in itself beyond the book in 3 formats- especially as the book has over 80 diagrams (making it an easy dip in and out)

That said I’ve had this direct request in from 10 plus people so far. Which means far more people have probably thought about this.

But the diagrams are causing a blocker in my head on the right audio approach as the book is all about visualising your thinking.

The diagrams are critical and describing them would lose the intended impact.

If you’ve ever listened to an audio of a book that highly visual - or a an audiobook producer - what’s the right approach here?

I need great reasons to add this into the project scope with a clear insight into the benefits.

It’s an easy ask but as the author it’s a real investment to create, time and much as money.
