📢WE’RE TAKING A PLEDGE TO SPREAD THE WORD

We all know that the climate emergency is real and urgent but most of us just don’t know where to start to make a difference. But what I do know is that we’re stronger together than as individuals and that when a community with a voice chooses to use it, things change.

As founder of the Henley Female Collective and a Trustee of , I was lucky enough to attended a viewing of the People’s Emergency Briefing in Henley this week and it stopped me in my tracks. Hard-hitting, yes. But also genuinely optimistic about what’s possible IF communities act together.

It moved me enough that I’m planning to arrange a viewing for our HFC community - more on that very soon.

In the meantime, we are publicly committing to the ‘Spread the Word’ pledge as part of Greener Henley’s Pledge for the Planet initiative. Because having an audience comes with responsibility, and this message needs to travel.

Swipe through and if you’re ready to take your own pledge, head to greenerhenley.org.uk/pledge (link in bio and on stories) - there’s one for everyone. Our individual action may be small but together they add up to something real, something impactful and something that tells our political leaders that we want to see action.

Once you’ve made your pledge come back here and comment DONE.

The more interaction this post gets, the more people see it an and the bigger difference we make together.

Every month I look forward to receiving the email from to tell me the photos are in, and this month they made me smile more than ever.

Because our last breakfast conversation tackled a really tough subject (rejection sensitivity) and yet look at the laughter and the smiles and the genuine joy in the room. I think having the ability to talk authentically about challenging things AND find joy in the process is a magical thing and this amazing room of women were pretty magical.

So thank you for facilitating a fabulous conversation with warmth and wisdom, and to everyone in the room for joining the conversation in such a supportive, genuine and joyful way.

And as always, thanks to for the beautiful photos, to for their support and fabulous hosting and to for tirelessly spreading the word about the Henley Female Collective.

It was so inspiring and beautiful to experience the power of this film collectively - particularly with i@imogenceit and in the room with us.

Imogen and Louise met at the Henley Female Network in 2023 when Imogen shared her journey from world class rower to founder of . Her words were so inspiring that Louise, up to then a stranger to Imogen, offered to make a film to support her work.

Over the next few years, Imogen and Louise worked together to create this beautiful insight into a world that we often don’t think about or see. A world where, with the right intervention, prison can be a one-off punishment for a crime and not - as it too often is- the start of a continuous cycle of reoffending.

I am so grateful to both Lou and Imogen for giving up their time to come back and share their story and to ask us to think differently about punishing crime. They were both truly inspirational and an extraordinary example of what can happen when a chance connection collides with a genuine purpose.

If you were there this morning, I’d love to hear what your key take away was. And if you weren’t, this film will give you a little insight into what we talked about…

A few thoughts that came to me as a result of the story Anji shared at our get together on Friday…

1. When we support people around us, there is a ripple effect. Uplifted and empowered women uplift and empower others.

2. In order to be uplifted and empowered women we don’t just have to give; we have to be open to receiving too (starting to feel like Joey from Friends!). We have to ask for help, seek help, accept support and love and care… I think this is a message that is probably more important for women (who rarely struggle with giving).

3. I didn’t say it in the reel but I hope it goes without saying that this support - this ‘giving’ - doesn’t have to be for free. Anji got herself coaches and mentors, she invested in herself and in them. She paid other women. Being a person who gives doesn’t mean sacrificing yourself, your business and your health. I ‘give’ a lot. Some of that is free but much of it is paid. I think this is a bit part of the conversation and I’m planning to have a speaker on this topic in this year’s conversations x

What do you think? What would you add?

I am so excited that after a four month break (whilst I took off on a little adventure with my family!) we are BACK!! And we don’t just have one breakfast conversation in March. We have TWO!

The first is with wonderful who will be helping us to mark with her story of bravery. Drawing on her own experiences of living in survival mode, Anji will explore how transformation doesn’t necessarily come from bold leaps or dramatic reinvention, but from small, brave decisions that slowly reshape how we live and feel. We will hear about the brave moments that have played a pivotal roles in Anji’s journey - impacting her story in ways that perhaps exceeded expectations at times.

Expect honesty, reflection, and the chance to be moved by a story that is both deeply relatable and genuinely inspiring, while also creating space to consider what small brave steps might be next for you.

And as always you can expect a room full of amazing women enjoying the hospitality of beautiful as we chat, get inspired and connect with people who are truly supportive and uplifting.
