Purchasing & Production Planning Manager

Join one of Europe’s largest commercial nurseries in this influential role, responsible for purchasing young plants, pots and key production materials supporting £20m+ annual sales.

You’ll lead a three-person Planning Team and work closely with Sales, Production and Suppliers to ensure the right products and materials are available at the right time.

We are seeking an analytical, commercially minded individual with purchasing, procurement, supply chain or production planning experience. Excellent Excel skills and strong negotiation and communication abilities are required. Horticultural experience is advantageous, but exceptional candidates from FMCG, food production or manufacturing are welcome.

These plants are the second crop this season on our new Madley Green site. With water now being pumped from our on site reservoir this new nursery is an incredible facility enabling us to supply more UK grown plants to retailers.

Assistant Technical Manager

Have you recently graduated with a plant science qualification or similar? This could be a role for you to develop into. An opportunity to join the team at one of the largest and fastest growing ornamental nurseries in the UK. Working with our growing team you will influence and shape all of the technical aspects of the business including pest and disease control, w**d control, growing media, technical staff development and our drive towards sustainability.

Responsibilities:-

Plan and oversee crop protection and herbicide programmes.
Take responsibility for biological control programmes.
Maintain and improve hygiene standards.
Conduct regular pest and disease crop walks.
Maintain accurate record keeping for compliance with quality management systems.
Conduct crop protection trials and evaluations.

About You:-

Level 3 or higher qualification in an agricultural, horticultural or biological sciences subject.
An interest in crop protection and biological control products.
An understanding of product authorisations for ornamental crops.
Experience of or an interest in ornamental crop production.
