You might have seen that we shared our HR Advisor vacancy last week as part of our next stage of growth.

Alongside that role, we’re also recruiting an HR & Operations Co-ordinator to join our small consultancy team. This role is a key part of how we’re growing... supporting our Founder, HR Advisor and wider associate team, keeping client work running smoothly and helping us continue to deliver the warm, practical, people-first HR support we’re known for.

It’s a part-time role (16 hours per week, 0.4 FTE) and would suit someone who enjoys organisation, coordination, working with systems and developing their HR / business knowledge in a professional services environment.

If you like variety, care about doing good work and want to be part of a growing local business where your contribution genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you.

A little Sunday evening reflection from Lorna:

I spend my working life helping small businesses and charities with their HR.

And yet… while recruiting for my own business, I’m outsourcing parts of the process myself.

Not because I don’t know how to do it (obvs). But because doing HR well takes time, headspace and objectivity and you don’t always have all 3 at the same time when it’s your own business 🤯

And honestly, some of it just isn’t the best use of my time as a business owner either.

If even us HR consultants outsource our own HR at times, it’s a good reminder that you don’t have to do everything yourself!

If HR’s still lurking on your to-do list or waking you up at night, that’s usually the sign that you should've got some support a little while ago...

We’re going to be on the lookout for an experienced, part-time, permanent HR Advisor soon 🎉

This isn’t an in-house, corporate HR role. It’s a client-facing, advisory position working with our wide range of small business and charity clients from across different sectors. The role will suit someone who’s confident handling employee relations, enjoys variety and is commercially aware.

We’re taking a little time to prepare the recruitment pack properly, because this is a key position in our team and we want to be really clear about what we’re looking for and what the role involves.

A quick recruitment update...

We’ll be closing our Transcription Assistant vacancy later today - a little earlier than planned.

Since it went live on Friday we’ve received over 120 applications and already have some strong, shortlist-able candidates. As mentioned in the advert, early closure was always a possibility.

We’re kicking off 2026 by growing our team 🎉

We’re looking for a detail-focused Transcription Assistant to support us on a flexible, as-needed basis.

Our work often involves sensitive and complex HR investigations, including child and adult safeguarding cases, so accuracy, care and confidentiality are absolutely essential. The role's primarily remote and involves reviewing and tidying investigation meeting transcripts to a high professional standard. This includes checking accuracy, spelling and grammar, with most transcripts completed within a 48-hour turnaround. A company laptop will be provided, along with infrequent paid travel for in-person meetings. While the working pattern's flexible, we have high standards when it comes to quality, confidentiality and client service.
