One of my favourite shrubs is a Prunus incisa Kojo-No-Mai, it’s beautiful dainty flowers provide an early pollen source for the bees and at this time of year they add a very welcome elegance to your garden, minimal pruning needed and an annual feed of compost is all that’s needed to keep this little chappy happy. X

Stage 2
After scarifying make sure you clear all debris off the lawn, you can add it to your compost or garden waste bins.
I then give the lawn a spring feed and re seed any patches, at this time of year it’s reasonably mild and damp so the grass seed germinates easily.

Now is a good time to scarify your lawns, spray any moss a week previously with a moss killing lawn tonic, you can rake out the dead moss or use a scarifier.
