Back from a week in the South of France and now looking forward to the start of term.

I will be setting up my new timetable over the next week for new students, but still have some availability if you know of anybody requiring French/German tuition in groups or 1-2-1 🇫🇷🇩🇪📚🧑‍🎓📆

Review
Our French language sessions with Kim have been both enjoyable and thoughtfully constructed. She has worked hard to understand both us and our objectives and tailors the sessions with thoughtful preparation to get the most out of each hour we spend with her. The conversation always flows and time flies by.
We leave looking forward to our next lesson

Greetings are hugely important in France. If you go to a restaurant and just say you would like a table for two without saying Bonjour/Bonsoir Monsieur/Madame, it will come across as being very rude.

This note on a restaurant window reminds people to use greetings as well as s’il vous plaît/ merci as it is a sign of respect and politeness.

Understanding the culture of the country you visit is really important to make the most out of your stay in a foreign country.

Well done to my students this year 🎉🎉🎉They have all worked very hard and had real determination to do well.

Language students have a tough time at GCSE level. French, German and Spanish are ranked as having some of the highest grade boundaries and to get a grade 9 this year - they had to achieve a minimum of 87% over four tested skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. French and German are not easy GCSEs to achieve high grades in!!

This year I had five students sitting their GCSEs. Three of my students got a 9, one got an 8 and one got a 6 - amazing results for these tough exams 🎉🎉 Not forgetting that most of these students are also sitting eight, nine or ten other subjects as well! Incredible work…

I wish them all the very best of luck for their bright futures ahead and will miss seeing them every week!

I have always thought that learning /speaking a language is a great work out for the brain. Just as we do physical exercise to remain fit and healthy for our bodies, it is also beneficial to exercise our brain and keep us mentally fit and here is the proof in this article!

Learning a language is not only immensely fun and enjoyable, but also stops our brain from aging too quickly.

So, how many languages do you speak and how much younger would that make your brain?

A lovely present from a parent whose son I taught German to this year.
Henry decided to take an external German GCSE a year early in year 10 and my job was to teach him. Being half Austrian, Henry knew a lot of basic vocabulary but neither the grammar nor the GCSE topical vocabulary. Two lessons a week from summer yr9 until May yr10 and he was more than ready to take the GCSE, which he did and found it easy. Such a pleasure to tutor such inspirational students ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
