Great to bring our Ambassador community together today at Hartwell House for our latest BBF Ambassador Lunch.

It’s always a valuable opportunity to step back, share insight and have honest conversations about the opportunities and challenges shaping Buckinghamshire’s economy - and today was no exception.

A big thank you to Mark Schmull, Vice Chair of BBF, and Zina Etheridge, CEO of Buckinghamshire Council, for their thoughtful contributions. Both reinforced the importance of partnership - with the Council as an enabler and convenor, and businesses like those in the room as essential partners in driving growth.

As we mark 15 years of Buckinghamshire Business First, it’s a powerful reminder of what collaboration can achieve. Together, we’ve grown from a small group of founding businesses into a network of over 15,000 - and delivered real impact for the county:
• £70 returned to the Buckinghamshire economy for every £1 invested
• Nearly £500m of economic value generated over that time

That success doesn’t happen without the ongoing commitment of our Ambassador Members, sponsors and partners - alongside the continued support of Buckinghamshire Council. It’s that collective investment and leadership that matter more than ever.

Thank you to Bl**er Mills Law and Seymour Taylor for sponsoring today’s lunch, and to Hartwell House Hotel, Restaurant & Spa & Spa for hosting us so beautifully.

Throwback to the Business Leaders' Dinners that have brought Buckinghamshire's business community together over the years.

These evenings have sparked partnerships, unlocked contracts, and created the kind of relationships that only come from sitting down together.

"The Business Leaders' Dinners are now a diary priority for me. You meet people two or three times at these events, which allows you to build a rapport and trust, which can lead to further business or referrals."

— Helen Pethybridge, Chiltern Coaching / ActionCoach

Buckinghamshire businesses, your insight matters more than ever right now. The Buckinghamshire Business Barometer is your chance to share how trading conditions, people costs, and wider global events are really affecting your business.

This short, bi annual survey looks at the impact of the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage, the Middle East conflict’s effect on your costs, and your current and future innovation activity, feeding directly into Buckinghamshire Business First’s work with government and the Low Pay Commission for wage rates from April 2027. Responses are anonymised, published on the Buckinghamshire Business First website, and as a thank you, you will also be entered into a draw for a complimentary place at the next Ambassadors’ Lunch.

The survey is open until 18 June, takes around five minutes, and every response strengthens Buckinghamshire’s business voice. Have your say today with the Buckinghamshire Business Barometer at https://orlo.uk/cWAnc
