It's my name day! A day that is celebrated by some, that have the same name as a Saint or biblical figure. The name Fotini means bright, shining, light or brilliance. Growing up outside of the Cypriot tradition and being called Tina my whole life. I hadn't even considered it when naming my company. It took someone else to point out that my name, and that its meaning, was pretty cool.
I suppose the question today is, what's in a name? Am I bright and Shiny? Not so much in the mornings, but I am a believer in having a realistic but positive attitude, in finding joy in the little things and when life gets tough, holding onto the people and aspects of life that bring happiness. Enjoying and celebrating the success of the people around me, absolutely. Do I bring humour to most situations, even awkward ones, absolutely. Hopefully all part of my charm. :)
In all seriousness though, the light in my life is not only my family, but that I get to do the things I love. supporting, nurturing and championing the people around me.
So looking for a shiny light this year! I have the spotlight on you and plan to help .
So there is this wise man who phones me every year to wish me happy name day (I tend to forget). Thanks Dad! I love you loads. (P.S. no presents)

The words behind us:

When I started my coaching and mentoring business, my aim was to motivate, encourage and champion my clients. Share skills and experiences that would support and educate my clients. This is still true today and although my business has evolved, grown and strengthened, my initial aim has not changed.

The reason I believe is simple, It's the deepest part of me that I share with my clients. it's what makes me the coach and mentor I am today.

I make sure that my clients get the full experience, where they see, hear and feel the encourgement, energy and motivation from me. (I'm not sure they are going to get the touch and taste but hopefully, (metaphorically speaking) that will happen too).

One of the first things I did as a coach and mentor was place these words behind me, so that when I coached, my clients would see the encouragement. One of my better ideas.

I had to take the words down recently, I have moved to a different location and as I stood there looking at them, it totally hit me! I didn't turn around enough, I didnt read them enough and I totally didn't take my own advice and believe in them enough. They were right there behind me, and I forgot. Crazy!

So, as we enter the New Year, a reminder to all, don't forget to gather strength from the words behind you. Our past experiences have created a stonger, wiser and more courageous self. A bolster for the new year, knowing that we have and will continue to grow.
