Here is a scissor that arrived into the workshop today. 😳

Not really sure what has been attempted here, but this is what we call “butchered by the local mobile butcher.”

The edge had been sharpened to approximately a 15° bevel angle, completely changing the geometry of the scissor. The V has been removed from the teeth and there’s not a ride line in sight.

This is exactly why specialist scissors require specialist sharpening. ✂️

I will be heading to Fermoy on Saturday 6th June for a personal event. Have a couple of customers to stop with on the way down for collections. Perfect timing for anyone wanting anything collected. I can stop off at locations close to this route line 👍

Great news — we will be attending with our full stall and sharpening services ✂️🚐

We’ll also have some new products with us, along with a range of our Spin Stops available to take away on the day. Pre-orders will also be available in a variety of colours for collection at the event 🎨

Sharpening will be available on-site with our usual 5 and 5 items . Bring along what you have and we’ll certainly see about doing more.

A drop bin will also be available — please make sure all pre-booked items are clearly labelled with your details.

Anything taken away for sharpening on the day will be returned with free postage 📦

Less than a week to go until the NI Grooming Challenge this Sunday! We’ll have our full stall set up with products, sharpening services, and clipper servicing ready for you. 🐩

Same rules apply:
🔹 5 scissors
🔹 5 blades
(If we get through more, we’re happy to take on extras!) ✂️

We’ll also have a drop bin available for postal drop-offs 📦 — just make sure everything is clearly labelled with your details inside.
