The Evolution of Stone Guy…

As i step closer to my half century (who keeps speeding up the clock?! 😳), I thought I’d share the journey…

👶 Started life as one half of a twin – which meant I spent the first few years arguing over whose toys were whose.

🥊 Had a spell in the boxing world. Back then I had hair, faster reflexes, and thought recovery meant having a Sunday lie-in.

💪 Worked hard, learnt the trade, made a few mistakes, and somehow managed to turn a passion for stone and restoration into a career.

🪨 Fast forward a few decades and here we are… Stone Guy was born.

These days I spend less time throwing punches and more time polishing marble, teaching others, and talking about grout far more than any normal person should. 😂

Who would’ve thought that a twin who liked boxing would end up becoming known for cleaning floors and restoring stone?

Life’s funny like that.

Here’s to the next chapter… although I might need reading glasses for it. 🤓🍻

WHY RINSING BETWEEN CHEMICALS MATTERS 🔴

One of the most important steps in cleaning is also one of the most overlooked...

Rinsing thoroughly between products.

It can be tempting to move straight from one cleaner to another, especially when tackling multiple issues like limescale, mould and soap scum. However, failing to rinse properly can be dangerous.

Some cleaning chemicals can react with each other when mixed, potentially producing harmful gases that can be hazardous to your health.

For example, when cleaning a shower you may use:
• Scale Away for limescale
• Mould Away for mould
• Ultra Clean 20 for soap scum and organic buildup

Each product has a specific job to do, but before moving onto the next stage, the surface should always be thoroughly rinsed with clean water.

Not only does this help keep you safe, it also allows each product to perform at its best without interference from residues left behind by the previous cleaner.

The safest approach is simple:

Apply product
Allow the correct dwell time
Agitate if required
Rinse thoroughly
Move on to the next product

Good results come from using the right products correctly, not mixing them together.

Work smart. Work safely.

Orbi sponges? Lets talk about them🧽

They are hardy little things - when used correctly!

1) Use them with the sponge side down, rough side up.

2) Make sure they are wet but not soaking.

3) Press gently - let the sponge do the work (stop squashing them right down!!)

4) Share your Orbi results with us below 👇🏼

Training Day - Grout Removal & Replacement 💥

David from Deep Cleans London recently joined us for a bespoke one-to-one training session focused on grout removal and replacement.

While many grout issues can be solved through professional cleaning, there comes a point where damaged, cracked, missing or heavily worn grout needs to be replaced rather than cleaned.

During the session, David learned:

-How to safely remove existing grout
-How to clean and prepare the joints correctly
- How to install new grout for a professional finish
- Common mistakes to avoid during the process

Bespoke training allows us to focus on the skills that matter most to your business, providing practical hands-on experience and real-world solutions.

A great day of learning and another valuable service to add to the toolkit.
