Saving £5 on a cleaning product could end up costing you £500 in damage!

I see it all the time. People picking up supermarket cleaning products thinking they’re saving a few quid, only to end up with a costly restoration bill!

Just because a product says it cleans floors, bathrooms or tiles doesn’t mean it’s suitable for every surface.

Especially when it comes to natural stone!

Know your surfaces, know your chemicals and use the right product for the job.

Saving a fiver isn’t much of a saving when you’ve got £500 worth of damage to put right!

NOT EVERY DIRTY GROUT LINE NEEDS REPLACING!

You'd be surprised how often people assume their grout is past saving when, in reality, it just needs a proper deep clean!

Over time, grout can become discoloured with dirt, grease, soap residue and general contamination.

But before you start ripping it out, ask yourself, is the grout actually damaged or is it just dirty?

If it's structurally sound, a good deep clean with the correct products and agitation could make a massive difference!

Our Grout Brite is designed to tackle stubborn grout contamination and help bring those grout lines back to life.

But here's the important bit...

If the grout is cracked, crumbling, missing or failing, no amount of cleaning product is going to fix that! That's when you need to look at removal and replacement.

And remember, always identify the surrounding tile before choosing your chemicals. What works on porcelain could cause serious damage to natural stone!

IDENTIFY THE SURFACE. IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THEN CHOOSE THE PRODUCT!

Sounds obvious, doesn't it? But you'd be surprised how often people reach for every chemical under the sun hoping something will work!

Before you even pick up a bottle, ask yourself, what am I actually trying to remove?

Is it grease? Then you need a suitable degreaser.

Is it limescale? You need to identify the surface before choosing a product. What works on one surface could permanently damage another!

Is it a stain? What's caused it? Has it penetrated the surface?

Is it an etch mark? Well, that's surface damage, not dirt! No amount of cleaning chemicals will remove it. It may need professional refinishing.

And that's the point!

There's no point throwing stronger and stronger chemicals at something if you haven't identified the problem in the first place.

You could be wasting your time, wasting products or, even worse, causing permanent damage to your customer's property.

Cleaning isn't about having the strongest chemicals. It's about knowing when, where and how to use them!

Know your surfaces, know your chemicals!

Sound familiar?

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people using far too much cleaning product and not removing the dirty water afterwards!

More product doesn’t mean a cleaner floor. In fact, too much can leave residue behind that attracts even more dirt.

And if you’re just mopping dirty water around, where do you think all that dirt is going? Straight into your grout lines!

That’s why proper extraction is so important. A wet vac removes the dirty water rather than just moving it around the floor.

The right product, correct dilution and proper extraction make all the difference!

Work smarter, not harder! 👌

Pumpkins on stone hearths… what could possibly go wrong? 🎃

They might look lovely for Halloween, but when pumpkins start to rot and leak, they can leave some nasty stains and even cause permanent damage to certain natural stones.

Now, imagine your customer comes to you with a hearth covered in white marks and staining. Would you know what to do?

This is exactly why training is so important!
