This is the sister page to the main Horsforth Independent Collective group, an informal, friendly, non judgemental group, looking to provide each other with a little support and advice about being self employed and running small businesses in Horsforth. This page will post updates on our regular events which range from coffee mornings to networking evenings, specialist talks and social events. To

We are using Eventbrite more frequently to keep a track of attendee number to our events. It’s especially useful for events that have limited capacity.

Each Facebook event will have a link to an Eventbrite booking page. Do not worry, we won’t be hounding you with lots of spam, it’s just good for us to know who to expect at our upcoming events.

If you follow our page on Eventbrite, you can keep posted on everything we are organising too:

I thought I’d share these litter pick events that Horsforth Town Council and Horsforth Litter Pickers are hosting each Sunday in October. If anyone can spare time to help out, please do get involved!

Details on how to take part are on the attached poster.

Everyone is needed to help Horsforth Town Council and Horsforth Litter Pickers do a big clean up of Horsforth. Each ward is hosting a litter pick during the Sundays of October between 10:30am and 12:30pm:

WOODSIDE WARD Sunday, 1 October at the car park for Cragg Hill
recreation ground on Wood Lane.
BROADFIELDS WARD Sunday, 8 October outside Morrisons Daily on Broadgate Lane.
HALL PARK WARD Sunday, 15 October near the car park by the playground in Horsforth Hall Park.
VICTORIA WARD Sunday, 22 October outside Tesco on New Road Side.
BROWNBERRIE WARD Sunday, 29 October at Horsforth Cricket Club off Brownberrie Lane.

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions and bring your own litter picker, hi vis vest and gloves if possible. These will be provided for those who don't have their own.

Purple bags will be provided to collect litter in. Full bags of litter can be left by LCC litter bins or bus stops. Please return all equipment borrowed to the meeting point at 12.30pm. Please email how many bags you collect to [email protected]

If possible please collect aluminium cans, glass bottles and vapes separately for recycling. Cans to go in your green bin, glass bottles in a bottle bank and vapes at battery recycling points, e.g. Morrisons. Do not attempt to pick up dog poo, broken glass, asbestos or sharps, e.g. needles.

• Children under the age of 18 should be accompanied by and remain the responsibility of a parent/carer when taking part in the litter pick.

• Guidance and a risk assessment will be provided on the day and participation in the litter picking event is at your own risk.
