Delighted to activate the very first Hands Up For Help Safe Space this morning, the incredible Massim Mazzeo aka The Italian Coffee Guy, who is based in North Parade Car Park, Horsham Park - Friends of Horsham Park.
A Hands Up For Help Safe Space is a safe environment for everyone to visit if they ever feel unsafe, vulnerable, threatened, harassed or bullied.
Those working at a HUFH Safe Space will make sure anyone seeking comfort is made to feel safe and comfortable immediately, then they will support the individual, or individuals, with whatever they are experiencing, including involving The Police and others until resolution.
They will also be distributing the HUFH badges for members of the HUFH community. To collect yours just pop along to one, confirm you are a member, provide your email address so the HUFH ethos and rules can be shared with you, then wear your badge with pride.
I personally gave two badges to members today at Horsham parkrun Michael Catlow and Nicky Frendo-Cumbo who have been amazing supporters of the initiative, and me, since its inception, thank you both.
More Hands Up For Help Safe Spaces will be activated this weekend and next week.
The Hands Up For Help movement was set up in response to the increasing incidents of anti-social social behaviour and has been described as a Community Neighbourhood Watch of scale, where everyone is welcome to offer help, or request help, by joining.
