🤒📝 From now until the end of January, employees no longer need to provide a fit note unless their sickness absence exceeds 28 days.

WorkNest's Director of Legal Services, James Tamm, says: “There’s no need at this point in time to change any existing written procedures or handbooks. This appears to be a short-term measure, and assuming pressure is alleviated on GPs, we should have reverted back to the normal seven days by the end of January."

"Heed the advice to have people work from home if they can, but don’t neglect the chunk of the workforce who can’t – those are the ones at greatest risk and who also pose the greatest risk to business continuity."

As the government puts Plan B into motion, WorkNest's Health & Safety and Employment Law experts discuss the extent to which this will impact businesses, how to avoid an outbreak in your workplace, and why employers should focus on protecting those who can't work from home.
