Here is a business news story from earlier today that AI has re written into poetry, can anyone decipher what it's about.

Twice the Tremor

The morning rang with copper bells
of rolling screens and restless tells,
a headline stitched in hurried type—
the Budget spoke, the wires went tight.

Markets, like flocks, in startled flight,
broke from perches of overnight,
a murmured fear through trading floors,
green lights dimmed to warning scores.

Rachel stood with ledgered calm,
numbers gathered in her palm,
lines of ink like winter seas,
cutting paths through old decrees.

Yet whispers weighed on every chart,

their panic-runs in practiced ways,
echoes born of Brexit days—

Only louder, wider, twice,

Are you planning a holiday in 2026?

Where are you going?

Which hotel are you staying at?

How are you travelling?

What are you going to do when you are there?

You can't go on a holiday without a plan, so why run a business, the very thing that pays for your holiday ( and everything else in your life ) without a plan.

It doesn't have to be complicated.

So, after you've finished spending half hour per day planning your holidays for the year, maybe spend half hour per day planning your business.

A saying I like to use is if you don't measure it, we can't improve it.

Once we get passed a small amount of childish innuendo, I am of course referring to your small companies performance.

Those who are avid followers of our blog and social media will know there are 4 stages of small business and graduating to the next level is no mean feat. There is software galore in stage four when your budget stretches, until then, we tend to read a little about key performance indicators, not really understand it so we don't bother.

In business as in life, there are mistakes of commission ( actual c**k ups we can all look back on ) and omission, things we could have done but didn't.

If we don't measure it, how can you improve it?

Key performance indicators need not be that tricky and you do not need to spend thousands on software just yet.

I made a very simple version, took me a few minutes, for manufacturers to use, give it a go for September, feel free to add others as you see fit.
