This week (14–20 September) is Recycle Week: a national reminder to recycle more of the right things, more often.
That matters at the kerbside. It also matters in the office, the warehouse, the canteen and the boardroom.
Every week, millions of recyclable items still end up in general waste. At the same time, the wrong items go in the recycling bin and contaminate good material. Both problems start with a pause: is this actually recyclable here and is my workplace making that easy? If you run a business, ask:
♻️ Are bins clearly labelled, and in the right places?
♻️ Do staff know what your local collection actually accepts?
♻️ Is recycling treated as “someone else’s job”, or as part of how the company operates?
Recycling only works when households and organisations get it right.
As a waste management company, we see every day what happens when materials are sorted well, and what is lost when they aren’t.
This week, stop and check. At home and at work.
What does your company do to make recycling the easy choice?
