On Monday morning I planned to do a quick post about an experience I'd had at the weekend; however it turned into a blog once I got started!
Two days later that very same garden centre/DIY store enters administration with 2,000 jobs at risk. 😢
Another example of a national retailer that sadly has not adapted to the changing landscape and the needs of its staff and consumers.
It's true, they like many other companies, public services, social enterprises and charities are facing challenging times and dealing with so many things beyond their control; however. . .
I firmly believe these organisations can (and have to!) adapt what they are in control of and this is the essence of the blog I wrote and the reason I love working with Public World.
I do believe things can be done differently and that will give such organisations the best chance of survival (and hopefully the chance even to thrive) if they really can take a fresh approach to how they organise themselves and truly put their staff and customers first.
What's the cost of not empowering our staff? When organisations give their people freedom and responsibility in the workplace, there are great outcomes for all!
