Dear followers and friends. I have, as of today, decided that I am going to slowly start to bring the business to a close. I want to be able to spend more time enjoying full time retirement and being able to give more time to my family, my garden, the house and going to the gym and taking fishing back up!
In 2012; while I was still serving, I was approached by an RE Captain asking me if I knew anybody who could frame his military medals? I boldly said I can do that! And TFP Courtmounting was born. So after a crash self taught course in picture framing I produced my first memorabilia frame, as below. When I retired from the Royal Air Force in 2013 I set up my little cottage industry. I thought to my-self, If I got an order a month I will be happy, there have been months when there have been multiple orders a day, such is the popularity of Military Memorabilia Frames now, especially as leaving presents.
I have developed various ways of displaying the myriad of items people entrusted in me and have sent or handed over to me. Some have been quite simple and some have been frustratingly difficult, and thanks to the unique military sense of humour, some have made me smile, but I have not once given into a challenge.
I was; a few years ago, approached by a local museum and asked to produce a special display piece to commemorate the award of the highest act of Valour that a British Service man or woman can be awarded, " The Victoria Cross ". The medals for display were all replica as the originals are housed in a regimental museum. To my knowledge, my frame is still on display, and a piece I was particularly proud of.
So from today, 21 June 2024; I am going to start the winding down process, I will no longer be taking orders for POSTAL framing projects. Those already in the system will of course be honoured. If you would like to have something framed and are happy to collect the finished item I will be happy to discuss things with you. Medal mounting has not affected by these changes to the business.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my past clients for their business, patience and frequent kind words. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on all of your projects.
If there is anyone out there who is looking for a new line of work I will be happy to pass on my knowledge!
Thank You
Kind Regards Tim
