Storm Arwen has hit Hay Wood hard with lots of storm damage, but by far the most significant and sad loss was one of the three large parkland ash trees on the glade. Not going to be the same without this one around.

Thank you to everyone that donated so generously, we’ve raised a massive £485 for Weston Hospicecare. We’ll be topping this up to make a donation total of £500.

Keeping ourselves warm today preparing firewood for next winter. We're really proud to be able to harvest, season and provide wood to homes within just a couple of miles (or less) of where the wood grew. If it feels right, it is right.

We've managed to get to all that ordered in time for the recent cold snap, but for the first time ever we're looking like we're going to get through all our firewood this season. If you're looking for wood to burn over the Christmas period please don't delay in placing your order.

Due to the current social distancing requirement, our 2020 Hay Wood Bluebell Open Weekend has been cancelled. However, we will be adding photos to this album over the coming weeks so that you can enjoy some of the things you would have seen on the walk.

We are still working to prepare firewood and timber in the safety of our private woodland and are defined as Key Workers by DEFRA. We aim to ensure that we are here for you in the future post this tough period, while also considering ourselves very lucky to be able to work in such a safe environment when compared to others on the front line of the NHS, super markets, essential stores and services.
