Exciting progress at 22 High Street, Ingatestone as renovation works continue at pace!

Mansfield Monk secured planning permission for the refurbishment and extension of this beautiful timber-framed 18th-century two-bedroom cottage, which will feature a stunning kitchen-diner opening onto the garden, a first-floor bathroom, and an en-suite to the principal bedroom.

Situated in the heart of the Ingatestone Conservation area, this late 17th Century, Grade II listed timber framed cottage was in need of repair and modernisation. Mansfield Monk worked with the Local Council Conservation officer providing a detailed Listed Building application and designing a new rear extension. The property has been sympathetically renovated inside and out with a modern yet traditional feel.

Carefully designed side and rear extensions to the original 18th-century building have created two new homes — a three-bedroom and a two-bedroom — both with gardens and off-street parking in the heart of the Conservation Area.

The internal layout reconfiguration will include moving the bathroom to the first floor to provide a two bedroom dwelling with upstairs bathroom and en-suite.

Thank you to Gracie Freeman who joined us for a day recently to assist with creating our Winter Wonderland inspired Christmas moodboard for our window over the festive period.

Gracie has recently completed her UAL Level 3 extended Diploma in Creative Practice, Art, Design and Communication at a local college, and it was a pleasure to have her with us for the day. She is now hoping to begin her career in the interior design industry so if anyone can assist please reach out.
