A 2-bedroom 1970s chalet-style home in Noak Hill, , Essex, has been transformed through plans by Mansfield Monk, creating a lighter, more spacious and better-connected home.
The original property had an internal, windowless kitchen and a dark second bedroom. The existing staircase was adjusted and with the new side extension provides a welcoming entrance lobby and circulation space. The new two-storey rear extension creates a generous, light-filled kitchen/ diner and provides a third double bedroom above with Juliet balcony both overlooking rear garden and surround countryside.
New dormers and larger windows have increased head height and created useful under-eaves storage on the first floor, while bringing more natural light into the bedrooms.
A thoughtful reconfiguration that makes much better use of the existing home and its potential.
