You can be anxious and still be brave.
You can be scared but still courageous.
You can be nervous and still be calm and composed.
You can be on edge but appear calm.
You can be unsettled but seem steadfast.
You can be drained and still look full of energy.
You can be overthinking and still appear rational.
You can have zero confidence and still seem bold.
You can feel like you don’t fit in, yet to others look like you belong.
You can be panicking, but still seem at peace.
You can be self depreciating and still value others.
It’s but does it apply to you?

We are all too good at putting our best foot forward and getting on with it. Phrases like ‘be at your best’ or ‘put your best self forward’ mean well, but can often leave people feeling like they need to pretend, and in the long run, thats exhausting and can lead to emotional burn out and a level of personal uncertainty thats hard to describe.
Let’s champion ‘putting yourself forward’ and ‘being you’. The honest, humble, authentic you who has ups and downs and is relatable to other human beings, on both good days, and bad. After all we are all going to have them!
Before the LinkedIn police get me, I’m not saying let’s rock up at work in whatever state we want, im just saying let’s drop the front a little.
If you need to chat to someone, do it.
If you need to work alone from the afternoon, do it.
If you need to surround yourself with a different team for some new energy, do it!
Do you, and be honest about it.
What will you do differently?
