🔹Breeding Sheep (3245) averaged £273.94 (+ £29.17) and sold to £430 for a Pair of Pure Texel Gimmers from Ros Cillala, Glassel.

🔹Store Lambs (976) averaged £112.16 and sold to £136 for a Pen of Seventeen Texel Cross from Turfhillock, Gight.

🔹Island Consigned Store Lambs (1810) averaged £116.69 and sold to £134 for Suffolks from North Booth, Haroldswick and also for Suffolks from Longfield Crofts, Wiltrow.

🎤“A large entry of 3245 Breeding Sheep were sold at Thainstone this Tuesday. Quality gimmers were very easily cashed with over 1/3 of the sale surpassing £300 per head. 2786 store lambs were met by a very active ringside of buyers. All classes would be sharper on the week with longer keep lambs seeing the largest increase.”🎤

🟪Bullocks (440) averaged 402.6p and sold to 508.5p per kg for a pen of 411kg Charolais Crosses Tongside, Scotscalder and £2,700 gross for a 689kg Limousin from Whitegate, Tresdale.

🟩Aberdeen-Angus Bullocks (168) averaged 382.5p and sold to 434.6p per kg for a 382kg from Thuster Mains, Bilbster and £2,400 gross for a 678kg from Rattar Mains, Dunnet.

🟪Heifers (424) averaged 399.3p and sold to 506.7p per kg for a pen of 450kg Simmental Crosses from Granton Mains, Bower and £2,800 gross for a 628kg Limousin Cross from Tresdale, Canisbay.

A record entry has been confirmed ahead of the three-day sheep fair at Caithness Livestock Centre, Quoybrae, which takes place from Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th September🐏

The event gets underway on Thursday 17th September with the Annual Show & Sale of Multi Breed Rams, held under the auspices of the Caithness Sheep Breeders Association and kindly sponsored by HRN which will see a record 250 rams forward.

Friday 18th September will see the North Country Cheviot Sheep Society Show & Sale, featuring 122 North Country Cheviot rams and ram lambs, alongside 18 females, kindly sponsored by Shearwell UK.

The event concludes on Saturday 19th September with the annual sale All Classes of Breeding Ewes.
