Explore Suffolk BID

Explore Suffolk BID We stood and fought on behalf of and alongside Suffolk businesses in the best of interests of all except one Business set to reap £2m, by force if necessary.

By working together we won. If we pull together again think how better Ipswich could be. This page is to provide a platform for information sharing and to ensure that some balance is restored to the Explore Suffolk BID Campaign. To date, only reasons to vote yes have been publicised via a last minute marketing glossy brochure accompanying ballot papers. For many who have investigated the proposal

, this document is short on detail, low on transparency, tenuous and arguably misleading. Yet, there has not been any opportunity or outlet available for those to justify why they think the vote should be 'NO' or even challenge the content of the brochure. Whilst we will also publish the Yes arguments in full transparency, we will be providing whatever mechanisms we can to try and restore democracy by promoting the reason to vote NO. We appreciate the whole topic is highly controversial and for some emotionally charged, admins of this page do not condone and when spotted will actively remove any unfounded allegations and accusations, along with anything that may be considered a personal attack, libelous or defamatory. Irrelevant of how those promoting / demanding / presenting a natural assumption to vote 'Yes' may conduct themselves individually or corporately, we will not compromise the moral high ground we occupy or our conviction to provide factual and accurate information for the consideration of those with a vote.

Please see the message we have received from Sense in Felixstowe 😔 This is posted on their request.

Our Felixstowe team were distraught to find their shop broken into this morning, lots of damage to property and equipment including several doors, till kit, cabinets, among other things, amounting to several thousand pounds of costs, plus a lost day’s trade.

The team have done an amazing job tidying everything and getting ready to trade again tomorrow - thank you, well done to the team and keep your chins up. Really proud of steps you've taken to recover swiftly and the spirit you have to make back up what has been lost for the people we support!

Any support from the community in and around Felixstowe would be greatly appreciated by the team and help us claw back some of the damage done - be it donating stock, time as a volunteer, giving a donation or simply coming to shop our great shop offer to help the team and for us to recover vital funds lost for delivery of support to people with complex disabilities that Sense supports.

We are delighted that Tom Hunt MP is continuing to vocalise his concerns and questions.
