A few weeks ago, our long standing and beloved team member Sharon Friend reached her well deserved retirement. One of our attendees, Hollie (pictured here with Sharon on her final day), wanted to say a few words for her.

Support Worker posts x 2 Re-Create Respite Services Kesgrave & Felixstowe for adults Learning Disabilities and/or ASD.
140 Hours per month in our respite services located in Kesgrave and Felixstowe. The role includes day, evening, weekend, and waking night shifts on a rota. We aim for a maximum of two worked weekends per month.

Salary: £13.45 to £14.45 per hour dependent on shift.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, compassionate support workers to provide the best quality care and support experience. Must be friendly, empathetic, conscientious and committed to providing the highest standard of care and support.

Duties include:

Supporting individuals to participate in a range of activities to enrich their lives, develop social skills, encourage independence and build confidence.

Supporting individuals to access the community and local facilities, eating out, leisure activities.

Providing opportunities for individuals to develop daily living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cooking, cleaning and other everyday household tasks.

To support with personal care needs where required.
Supporting with and administering medication.

Must be willing to complete training and learn basic IT skills.

£13.45 per hour, 35 hours per week

We are seeking an ehtusiastic, motivated support worker to join our dedicated support team in a fast paced, high energy environment. Must have good communication skills, strong values base and be passionate about supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism to work towards reaching their potential. It is essential that you are willing to support individuals with personal care, medication, to provide physical and emotional support and understanding in sometimes challenging situations.

The successful candidates main responsibilities will be to support attendees to engage in a range of meaningful work based therapeutic activities. Many of these tasks involve sorting, counting, packing, cutting, labelling, using safe manual equipment, creating packs and products all of which will be sold in our physical onsite shop.

There will be opportunities to support individuals to stock and maintain the shop, serve on the till, engage with customers and join in team work. All of this fantastic work and skills used to complete these tasks are captureded in our workbooks which are completed 1:1 at the end of each session.

The succesful applicant must be reliable, relatable, willing to learn and most importantly have a commitment to ensuring that every individual has a positive, fun and meaningful experience in a safe, welcoming environment.

Today we say goodbye David

David has been part of Recreate since the beginning. His character and attitude helped to shape our ethos and build the atmosphere we are known for today.

He was a kind, gentle, hardworking man with a great sense of humour who will be sorely missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

Today those of us who couldn’t attend the funeral honour David’s memory and celebrate his life by doing a few of his favourite things. Listening to Chas and Dave, watching Only Fools and Horses and eating cake!

RIP Davey. We will miss you

Down by the shores of Felixstowe 🧜‍♀️, Jess & Sophie (A Member Of Staff) grabbed a Battered Sausage & Chips 🍟 and sat by the sea 🌊 as a nice little treat Jess got an Ice Cream 🍦

The ladies also did their best Gino D’Acampo in the kitchen and made a tasty 😋 Pepperoni Pizza 🍕 from scratch !

To finish the evening off Jess then decorated some Ginger Bread people ! It’s been a day full of tasty food 😋 and lovely company 🥰

🐍🐍😱🐍SNAKES EVERY WHERE !!! 🐍 😱🐍🐍

It’s become a Snake’s Nest 🪹 🐍 at Re-Create Enterprise (Ipswich) ♻️ ! We are in the process of creating Reptile Packs 🦎🐢🐍!

Tina had used a pair of scissors ✂️ to neatly cut out pre-drawn Snakes 🐍 ,then Michael added some eyes 👀 and a little tongue 👅 to some of the snakes 🐍 to make them more realistic.

Michael then put 5 Snakes 🐍 in a Small A4 bag ready for the Reptile Packs 🐢🐍🦎.
As you can see Michael ended up being covered but luckily is a Snake Charmer 🪈🐍 and got them all bagged up haha 🛍️

At Re-Create Freedom 🦋(Felixstowe) Amber spent some time with Barry (A Member Of Staff) down at The Arcades 👾

Amber managed to win not just 1 but 2 Key Rings ! 🤩🤩👾👾

Amber & Barry both wanted to thank a member of staff at The Arcades named Amadeus !! He ran the Ticket Redemption Counter and let Amber choose what she wanted and let them off a few tickets 🎟️

Amber had a BLAST with Barry and as they left they even said “Good Bye” to Zoltan. Barry said “he didn’t say much back” hahaha.

🏪 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️Off To The Shop We Go 🏪🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

When attending Re-Create Enterprise ♻️ (Ipswich) we take a few people over to the shop across the road, to buy snacks 🥨 and or lunch 🥪

Andy & Mollie held each others hands 🙌 and made sure to look both ways 👀 when crossing the road. (A member of staff was also with them).

Mollie made sure to walk at the same pace as Andy & as you can see they really enjoyed 😊 their little trip to get some tasty treats
