As promised, the results are in! The studio with the fastest, most powerful cyclists is....

Leavesden Studios!! đŸ„‡

Well done! Leavesden Studios has generated a total of 309.1 Wh - equivalent to boiling a kettle for 8 minutes.

Everyone who has taken part is a winner, and we would like to congratulate both sites for their efforts.

Together, over the course of four hours and across two sites, we had:
53 riders
48 rides
6-minute average ride duration

This generated a total of 489.3 Wh, equivalent to a large LED TV running for 5 hours.

Your power, your pedal! 🚮 Earth Day is finally here!! 🌍

To celebrate this, we have prepared a special treat. Teaming up with Green Voltage, we have set up bicycle-racing stations across different Studios for teams to compete against one another. And the best part? All the power generated from the racing will charge up Voltstack batteries 🔋 On top of this, participants are also welcome to charge their phones while pedalling.

The event took place between 11am and 3pm today!

Sustainable ProductionđŸ€Sustainable Teams

Last month, we completed our very first Mental Health Champions Training with Sarah McCaffrey from Solas Mind. The session provided an insight into signs, symptoms and response behaviours to help those who are struggling, with industry-specific examples and patterns to observe. Sarah has created a wonderful structure to the session, with a clear overarching goal, easy-to-understand examples that stuck with us, and a comfortable atmosphere to learn in. Our team is grateful for the opportunity to expand on our knowledge of mental health, which can so often be neglected and misunderstood. Life is filled with unexpected events, and with long hours spent together, our colleagues are often the ones who are there with us throughout the week, able to notice that something has shifted. It’s so important to know what to look out for and how to help someone who may need it.

The partial purpose of sustainability is to look after people and their well-being. We will be actively supporting the crew on productions with resource sign posting. We have some exciting news! Sustainable Film has found a new home at the iconic Pinewood Studios—just as the studios celebrate their 89th birthday, having officially opened on September 30, 1936.

Being based on this legendary lot, with its incredible filmmaking legacy and beautiful natural surroundings, is a dream come true. We’re proud to be part of Pinewood’s story as it enters its 90th year, joining a history of world-class creativity and innovation.

This move brings us closer to the heart of the industry and allows us to provide on-the-ground support for incredible projects like Black Bag (2025) and The Roses (2025).

We’re inspired every day to be working alongside talented crews, helping to change the nature of film production from the inside out.

Come and say hello! We’re excited for this new chapter of greener filmmaking.

Seasonal Recipe: Pumpkin & Chilli Pasta

For this video, the pasta dish served as meal prep for the week and makes roughly 3-4 portions.

Ingredients:
œ medium pumpkin
1 pepper
1 chilli
100g mascarpone
1 onion
2 (or more) cloves of garlic
Cup of roasted pumpkin seeds
Salt and Pepper to personal preference
1 stock cube
100g Feta cheese
2 (or more!) cups of pasta
2 tsp olive oil
Optional: 50g of butter
2 tsp tomato puree

Method:
1. Chop the pumpkin, pepper, chilli, onion and garlic.
2. Cover in olive oil and roast in the oven for 30 mins at 180 degrees or until cooked
3. Blend the ingredients until smooth
4. Mix the hot water with the stock cube and add it to the paste
5. (Optional) Add tomato puree and butter for a deeper flavour profile
6. Add mascarpone, salt and pepper
7. Mix all until smooth
8. Cook the pasta and add it to the pumpkin sauce
9. Dish out and garnish with feta cheese and roasted pumpkin seeds

Notes: The recipe is inspired by Good Food’s Esther Clark recipe
Preserve the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin for future use instead of disposing
Despite the chilli, the pumpkin and the cheeses have a mild flavour
A hand blender is the easiest way to create the sauce; however, the vegetables can also be mashed.
