What a great meeting today, with some fantastic energy in the room! Lisa reminded us of one of our core values, “Givers Gain”. These principles emphasise mutual support, continuous improvement, and strong standards that drive business, and it was great to see this reflected throughout the room today.

We also had some entertaining weekly presentations, with Olivia from JMG Insurances taking the floor this week to share more about the wide range of insurance solutions they provide, including some very niche areas, which made for a really interesting talk!

It was also great to welcome several visitors today, sparking some valuable conversations and new connections throughout the room.

And while a few members are away enjoying some well-earned family time in the sun, they were certainly missed!

Behind every business in the room is a story and this morning’s BNI meeting was full of them.

reflected on what being part of BNI for the last 9 years has meant to him, sharing how the traditions, relationships and consistency within the room continue to make a real difference.

Our feature presentation came from Hugh at Cavalier Financial Solutions, aptly named after his pawsome companion. Since launching the business in 2017, Hugh has built a reputation for supporting clients with both traditional mortgages and specialist lending solutions, including bridging finance and auction purchases.

He shared some fantastic examples of how creative finance can unlock opportunities, including helping a customer transform a former pig sty into a four bedroom home.

Another powerful story was how Hugh supported Lamin, a war veteran and former DIY SOS contributor, to invest wisely into property and mortgage rentals so he could live from the income generated. After sustaining life changing injuries in Afghanistan, Lamin’s resilience and determination made the story even more inspiring.

This morning’s BNI feature presentation came from Bould from Plus accountants who shared the kind of insight that only comes from 38 years of helping businesses navigate pretty much every financial challenge imaginable.

Interestingly Dave’s approach is to combine local support with access to a much wider network of specialists so clients are not just relying on one person’s opinion but getting joined up advice across multiple areas of business and finance. It was less about ticking boxes and more about helping people make smarter decisions with the right people around them which is probably why Dave has built such strong relationships over the years.

The timing of todays financial presentation was spot on. As the business spot light highlighted everyone’s choice of dream cars, from Aston Martins to Range rovers there was some big money conversations.

Our BNI team is taking on Snowdon this June! ​

They’re climbing to help raise funds for our chapter charity, the Help Appeal - County Air Ambulance Trust , which raises money to fund NHS hospital helipads across the UK, helping critically ill patients get emergency care faster.​
