Our Director Sandra attended the National Data Guardian Office event in London yesterday - hearing from experts on data guardian issues and the future of the NHS/patient data.

The key messages centred on giving patient data more clarity and ensuring it is more accessible. Patients want to know their rights, and their choices, when it comes to their personal data.

Some fantastic speakers in Dame Fiona Caldicott, Professor Jonathan Montgomery, Nicola Blackwood and Natalie Banner, all with some great insights.

We are pleased to announce that our director Sandra Lomax has been appointed Vice Chair for the UK Caldicott Guardian Council (UKCGC).

Sandra will be supporting the new Chair, Christopher Bunch, in delivering the ambitious aims of the Council over the next three years, as identified in the new constitution.

Sandra said “I am pleased and excited to have the opportunity to help Caldicott Guardians in their important role at a national level."

"The Caldicott Manual produced earlier this year is the beginning of wide range of materials the UKCGC will be delivering over the next 3 years and I’m proud to be a part of their work alongside the National Data Guardian’s Office”

The Council is the point of contact for all Caldicott Guardians seeking advice on the application of the Caldicott Principles, and enables Caldicott Guardians to share information, views and experience.

A Caldicott Guardian is a senior person responsible for protecting the confidentiality of people’s health and care information. All NHS organisations and local authorities providing any kind of social services must have a Caldicott Guardian

Stay compliant adds two new members to team:

Due to continued growth we are delighted to announce the addition of two new members to our team. Linda Bryson joins as Sales Executive and Deborah Gargon has joined the company as Business Manager.

Both will play a vital role in launching new courses and events within our Stay Compliant and BLS Training businesses.

With an increase in the types of courses and services we have developed, their role will play a key part in helping to create awareness in the Education and Local Authority sector as the company progresses forward into new training choices for our clients.

Director Gary Baker commented;

‘With Linda joining the Stay Compliant and BLS team she brings a lot of enthusiasm, sales knowledge and the desire to provide exceptional customer service. As a sales executive, Linda will be responsible for introducing our Data Protection services and events to schools, academies and Local Authorities to provide them with the managed services and training expertise to ensure they remain compliant with information management legislation.

Similarly, Deborah brings years of experience in managing complex administrative systems and projects and will be a huge asset to improve our business efficiency. She will oversee the administrate elements of our services and courses for the whole of our client engagement.

With a number of new courses and packages been developed and launched by us this year Linda and Deborah will play a vital role in supporting our excellent customer service and continuing to provide value for money for our clients.’
