Had the pleasure of taking the 10-minute slot at Ingroup this morning — talking brochures, websites, getting found on Google, and why AI still can't do branding properly.

Another productive Friday morning at Ingroup, with 18 members round the table, nine referrals passed and over £2,700 of business generated from previous referrals. We were also delighted to welcome our newest members, Joe and Rob of WHG Structural Engineers.

Neil Burnett of Burnett Design took the 10-minute slot, sharing recent brochure and website projects, practical advice on climbing the Google rankings, and a lively discussion on why AI-generated design still can't deliver a consistent, recognisable brand.

InGroup Member Spotlight – MB Digital

This week Danny from MB Digital shared how the business continues to grow through trust, service and solving problems properly. From managed print and IT support to large production print systems, the company focuses on looking after customers long term. Danny told the story of installing a 700kg production printer through a tiny upstairs window in rural Yorkshire after promising the customer they could make it work. His message was simple — say yes, find solutions, and always look after people properly.

Had a really good meeting with a new client on Tuesday — always nice when something starts to click early on with the right people and afterwards, we popped into Cartmel Priory for a quick look. Properly impressive space. The light in there’s amazing, and there’s just so much history in the place — hard not to feel a bit inspired by it.

One thing that stood out was the typography carved into the stone. Some of it goes back to 1776 — still sharp, still really well considered… even the old graffiti holds up 😂 .

We’re lucky to be working in such a rich historical area—there’s inspiration everywhere you look.
