Interesting and informative presentations from Chief Executive of VisitEngland Patricia Yates and former Olympian Steve Cram. Joined by the Executive Director of the Tourism Alliance Richard Toomer and CT’s MD Gill Haigh.

Congratulations to Holehird Gardens becoming regional winners of the RHS Partner Garden of the Year competition.

Holehird Gardens thanked MTP Media for their help printing posters and banners. It definitely helped boost interest in the RHS Partner Garden of the Year competition.

EXCITING NEWS - We did it!

‘RHS Partner Garden of the Year’ for the North West and Northern Ireland

We are thrilled to announce that Holehird Gardens are Winners of the ‘RHS Partner Garden of the Year’ for the North of England and Northern Ireland – we are delighted and THANK YOU to all who voted for us.

This is fantastic news, and well deserved recognition of the skill and dedication of all our volunteers. Voted by visitors and members in recognition of a ‘feel good garden’ for the positive impact our gardens have on our health and wellbeing.

Visitors to the garden said:
“It never fails to delight whenever we go. All done by volunteers, brilliant.”

“It’s very peaceful and a great place to de-stress and unwind, leaving you feeling good and ready to continue on with life’s challenges.

Kendal based Graphic Design company 42 Creative celebrated 10 years in business on 1 October. To mark the occasion, founder Steve Parkman decided to do something a little different.

42 Creative use MTP Media for high quality printing on the latest litho and digital presses using vegetable based inks and environmentally friendly paper.

But stored away gathering dust and rust, Steve Parkman had an 1950’s Adana table top letterpress machine along with hot metal and wooden type cases. It came out of a church in Barry Island where he grew up.

Steve Parkman decided to enlist the help of MTP’s Steve Wray to restore the Adana press which involved removing the rust, replacing a few parts and sourcing new rubber inking rollers.

Steve Wray commented that he had long forgotten his letterpress skills, but it all came back to him.

It turns out the Adana press is something of a collector’s item.

Filmed by Steve Parkman, the attached video shows Steve Wray setting the type, locking the cast iron forme with quoin keys, inking the press, and taking an impression – you need to turn the sound up.

An enjoyable weekend supporting the Keswick Mountain Festival.

MTP Media was involved in producing print for the festival.

Mixture of inspirational speakers, exhibitors and live music. Nice to catch up with friends.

Print Finisher

We are looking for an experienced print finisher to join our team.

We are busy printers, based in the centre of Kendal. We undertake a large variety of work, a lot of which is high quality and requires attention to detail.

The job will involve operation of a variety of print finishing machinery, training will be given on specific machines but general print finishing experience essential.

Job will also include some driving and delivering so UK driving license essential.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Good knowledge of print finishing equipment

o Cylinder

o Guillotine

o Platen

o Folders

o Booklet Makers

• UK driving licence

Details

37.5 hrs a week, Monday to Friday, paid overtime.

25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays a year

Company pension

Salary £22,425 per annum.

KESWICK MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

MTP Media, Cumbria are delighted to work with Keswick Mountain Festival to produce festival print.

The festival returns to its traditional slot of 20 - 22 MAY 2022.

Tickets are available in store from George Fisher, Keswick.
