HiddenHearts is looking for feedback . We really want to know what the local community feel about this site and about our plans to set up a traditional match making service. We want to offer a customised service for those who are fed up and disappointed in online dating and would like a more caring, personal approach. We are in the process of researching this need at the moment so would welcome any ideas. Feeling lonely is not good for anyone . Online dating has it's place but it can be anonymous, cold and intimidating. Traditional, supportive matchmaking could be the answer and could be much less time consuming too.

This is a very moving and upsetting but, sadly, not uncommon, story of divorce followed by a series of dreadful dates many of which started online. Surely there should be something better than this to protect women and men too. If single people could turn to a professional dating agency that vets people, interviews everyone and takes care of all their clients from start to finish would they use it? I know I would. I would love to know what other people think???

Loneliness is a more common problem than people realise but it's not always easy to admit to. Being shy or lonely is not a crime and certainly doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. Shyness and insecurity is something we all experience to different degrees. It's just that some are better than hiding it and putting on a front than others. I would like Hiddenhearts to bring people together, to make them feel they belong and are not alone. We need to learn to accept ourselves and believe in who we are and what we have to offer.
I'd welcome any thoughts on this. If anyone has any tips on how to become more confident such as ' fake it til,you make it' let me know and I will put them on my page.

Playing and having fun.
For kids play is instinctive and natural. They turn everything into a game, even the boring stuff. What happens to this instinct as we get older? I think our desire for fun remains but it becomes harder and harder to find the time or the energy to make it happen. In fact I swear my desire to have more fun in life gets stronger as I get older not weaker!! It doesn't have to be complicated. Just going out with friends, having a laugh, mucking about- maybe even going to the local park and going on the swings and slides when it's dark and no kids are watching. Just having fun!!!! There's not enough of it and it's not always possible to find like minded people to have fun with. Play increases energy, brings joy and laughter and can put us in touch with our truest self.

There's an agency in New York that runs 'playdates' for adults. It's not dodgy in any way!!! They just arrange events like dancing, drawing, climbing - whatever the group fancy doing. The only rule is that has to be fun. Perhaps we should have something like this locally.
