Well, it's official… the Capable Co. website is LIVE! 🎉

It's actually been quietly sitting there for a few days while I've been making a few final tweaks (particularly on mobile!), but I think it's time to properly celebrate it.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind.

From creating the branding and shaping the services to building the systems, processes, client journey, Welcome Pack and booking system… there's been quite a lot going on behind the scenes!

And then there was the website.

I decided to move from Showit - Drag & Drop Web Platform to Squarespace, which meant getting to know a completely new platform and building everything from scratch.

And do you know what? I've absolutely loved it.

The tech, the organising, figuring things out, making everything work together. Even the little details that probably nobody else will ever notice. 😂

It's reminded me just how much I enjoy this side of business.

There's still plenty I want to develop as Capable Co. grows, but seeing everything come together and having a website that finally reflects the business I'm building feels pretty special.

I'm proud of what I've created, excited about what's ahead and, if I'm being completely truthful, a little relieved to have pressed publish!

A lovely morning of networking, conversations and delicious food! ❤️

It’s been quite a while since I’ve attended an in-person networking event, so I was feeling a little nervous about putting myself back out there.

But I needn’t have worried!

This morning I attended The Athena Network Worcestershire Launch VIP Brunch at Browns, and I absolutely loved it.

Such a welcoming group of women, some really lovely conversations and a wonderful atmosphere.

It was also so lovely to see Holly, who I’ve known for years, doing such a brilliant job growing her Athena network. ❤️

And the best bit? I’ve officially joined!

As I step into this next chapter of my business with Capable Co., I’m really looking forward to building new connections, supporting other businesswomen and becoming part of this community.

I genuinely love the things that other people often want to hand over.

The admin. The organising. The systems. The details. Even a complicated spreadsheet or a platform I’ve never used before.

Give me something to figure out, organise or improve, and I’m happy!

But what I’ve always enjoyed most about business support is getting to know the people and businesses I’m working with.

Understanding what they do, how they work, what matters to them and where I can make a difference.

I don’t just want to tick things off a list.

I want to be someone a business owner can rely on. Someone who gets to know their business, notices the little things, thinks ahead and can be trusted to get on with it.

And I love that no two working relationships look quite the same.

Some people need structure and processes. Others need flexibility, a sounding board or someone to bring a bit of order to the chaos. Often it’s a mixture of everything!

That’s why the way I work matters just as much to me as the work itself.

I want to build relationships where people feel comfortable asking for help, confident handing things over and supported in a way that genuinely works for them.

It’s also the thinking behind the business I’m building and, eventually, the team I’d love to grow.

Because Capable Co. isn’t about doing things one particular way.

It’s about providing the right support, in the right way, for the people who need it.

So, what exactly does Capable Co. do?

Quite a lot, actually!

Capable Co. provides thoughtful, practical business support for founders, business owners and busy professionals who need more capacity, a little more organisation or someone they can trust to take things off their plate.

Support generally falls into three areas:

Executive Support
From managing diaries, inboxes and appointments to coordinating meetings, travel and priorities. Helping you stay organised, prepared and focused on the things that need your attention.

Business Support
The day-to-day work that keeps a business moving. Administration, research, document preparation, customer communications, project coordination and all those little things that add up.

Operations & Systems
Getting behind the scenes to look at how things work. Organising processes, improving workflows, setting up systems and finding more efficient ways to manage the moving parts of your business.

But here’s the thing.

Good business support isn’t just about handing over a list of tasks.

It’s about having someone who takes the time to understand your business, how you work and what you actually need. Someone who can spot what needs doing, take ownership and help things run more smoothly.

Sometimes that means ongoing support. Sometimes it’s a particular project or a system that needs sorting out.

Either way, the support should fit around you and your business — not the other way around.

Hello again 👋

It feels slightly strange writing this on an account I haven’t properly used for a couple of years… but mostly, it feels really exciting.

I feel like I’m back.

If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll probably remember this account from my VA days - systems, Dubsado, organisation, business support and plenty of behind-the-scenes business stuff.

Over the last few years I’ve spent a lot of time training and exploring the wellbeing space. I never really intended to move away from business support, but life took me in that direction for a while.

And if I’m honest, something always felt like it was missing.

Capable Co. has actually been somewhere in my head for a couple of years. It was only recently, after talking openly about it with my husband, that something clicked:

I need to do what I’m really good at. And what I genuinely enjoy.

I love business. I love organisation, systems and problem solving. I love being the person behind the scenes who knows what’s going on, takes ownership and creates space for someone else to focus on what they do best.

I’ve been doing this work for ten years and, importantly, I never actually stopped.

I’ve just got much clearer about what I want to build around it.

So… hello Capable Co.

“It’s time women with ADHD were taken seriously…” - The ADHD Women’s Wellbeing Toolkit book.

What a gripping statement right?! And I couldn’t agree more.

I encourage my daughter… To be her best authentic self daily. To embrace who she is. To be proud of all that she is and will be.

My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD inattentive and Autism this summer, and ever since I have been researching more and more, and now I’m buying / reading books.

Plus, all of my current clients have ADHD and a fair few past clients too - so I think it’s worth while to read more, to help create better and more aligned support for them.

World Mental Health Day!

It’s hard to know what to write for world mental health day because it’s affected our family in more ways than one this year.

Now I could sit and write so much about my experience, my family’s and friends experience, however I don’t want to do that today. We talk about mental health a lot and we honour what we need at all times, some days it’s more than others.

I’d rather just approach the day for what it is - raising awareness!

So today, if you know someone that needs some support then if you can just kick off a conversation or let them know that you’re thinking about them in some way... you really don’t know how much you could help someone just by doing something so small.

Have you seen the calendar???

Omg, it’s insanely fulfilling my highly organised life! 🧡😅

I have wanted this calendar for about a year but really couldn’t justify the cost of it. However, I heard from Jemma .lady.1 that it might be going on the Prime deals this week… and guess what - it did, and I just had to get it!

Not only is calendar management something I love doing, it’s actually a major part of my work as a VA…

Plus, as a neurodivergent family - I’m hoping it’ll help keep us all on track 🤞🙏

I think the rewards system will be a great motivator!

TIME BLOCKING:

I already time block my calendar, it’s something I’ve done for many years, and also teach my clients to do. I’ll be honest… after watching day one I have already adjusted my calendar and put in a CEO day - I’ve named it ‘CEO DAY’ to ensure that I act like a CEO on that day, and prioritise moving my business forward. 

When I saw that Carrie also time blocks by using her Google calendar, I literally thought “oh my gosh, this is the best piece of advice she could give you/us all on the first day of this Boot Camp!”

👉 Now my advice would be to work out what your priorities are - you have to make room in that calendar, otherwise it just won’t work.

Yes, you have things that you do currently and it may be taking up all the time in your day… but things won’t change, if your schedule doesn’t change.

So, set aside 30 minutes to an hour and look at your calendar to see where you can time block and make room for your CEO day.

Last thing, don’t forget that this calendar is negotiable… it’s your life… you’re allowed to change things up… and you’re allowed to make space for more…

🧘‍♀️ Absolutely beautiful weekend at the yoga studio with some gorgeous human beings!

Yesterday we did a Hatha class, followed by meeting TJ Power and learning about The Dose Effect, then dived more into yoga poses.

Today we created a class plan based around the ‘humble flamingo’ and then we actually did the class; which was hilarious because we added in many tricky poses 🤣

We then had an afternoon of diving into many other poses and perfecting them.

🧡 It’s been a really great experience this weekend. I’ve been sooo tired, but it’s oh so worth it!
