I've been trying to think of a reason to focus on James Bond today, can't think of one so all suggestions gratefully received to give me a segue, no matter how tenuous .. the only thing I can think of is we've got an amazing James Bond section of memorabilia in this Saturday's upcoming auction - every film is represented, and it's time to shout about it!!!

We're always working on the next auction, so as well as the Model Railways and Toys auction today, and our next comics auction on 8th August, we're now cataloguing our September Collectors' Cavern auction and are on the lookout for more vintage film posters to add to the auction. We've got a strong horror section as it's the lead-up to Halloween season, which will attract a lot of attention, so it's a great time to sell any unwanted horror posters.,

Star Wars & Film poster fans, here’s a real piece of STAR WARS history.
The legendary HILDEBRANDT brothers’ artwork was commissioned in 1977 when early promotional materials weren’t hitting the mark. But once the studio saw TOM CHANTRELL’s dynamic, character‑driven design, his version became the primary UK campaign image. That’s why the HILDEBRANDT poster had such a short period of use, making surviving originals far scarcer than later CHANTRELL quads. Fun fact: The Hildebrandts took Polaroids of two people who just happened to be at their studio that day, Greg Hildebrant’s wife standing in for Princess Leia, and a mutual friend for Luke Skywalker, to use as lighting reference. They then completed an entirely new painting in 36 hours.

Beatles autographs collected across two cut outs, featuring all four members of the fab four. GEORGE HARRISON, JOHN LENNON and RINGO STARR appear together beneath ‘BEATLES’, with PAUL MCCARTNEY on a separate piece. Previously taped into an autograph book and now removed. This lot is part of a collection of autographs from the 1960s - 80s The vendor's parents ran a bar in Worcester opposite the Geaumont Theatre where many celebrities of the day performed and then repaired to the bar across the road after the show. Verified genuine by Garry King of Autographica and sold with an Excalibur Certificate of Authenticity. Part of the Collectors’ Cavern for our July 11th sale.
